to those who have heaven in their faces - a skt welfare deployment video

for a week in a may, i was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to document the work SKT Welfare are doing on the ground by the turkey/syrian border in Reyhanli. There’s not a lot I am able to coherently articulate about my experience there, except that it genuinely was life-changing. And alhamdulilah with the amount of travels I have been on, that’s not a phrase I use lightly. This experience broke me down and built me back up within the space of a week, and is still teaching me lessons to learn months after. The Syrian refugees we met, the SKT workers, and the other volunteers, all of them are still in my heart. with this video, I hope you get a small glimpse of their hope, their sheer strength of soul, of how much light emanates from their faces.
