- Just another boring day for Scunthorpe United 👀 So this game had a lot riding on it, Scunthorpe needing to win to keep hold of 2nd place. Hereford needing to win to try and get into the play off spots. So when they went 1 up, it looked like it was going to be a good day for them. The first half wasn’t great from a Scunny perspective. Slow build up, laboured, no urgency, sideways passing, yes the same as a lot of other games. Chances were created and missed also. Hereford with the wind behind them gained corner after corner. One of them telling with a good header into the bottom corner.
Half time came round, thinking we’ll come out better. For first 5 mins or so it was all Hereford, then the switch flicked. Cal Roberts causing issues, struck first to draw us level. Then a free kick hitting the cross bar and Kouogun following up to put us 2-1 ahead. Free flowing football, running at players. Was great to watch but therein lies the frustration. How can we go from a poor first half to that in the second 🤷🏻♂️
Anyway balls goes out for a throw to Hereford, in to the Scunny bench, who “can’t find” said ball. So Rooney steps into retrieve, a few handbags were had with both benches. A bottle launched from the Hereford bench, Skinner the culprit. More pushing and shoving and 2 red cards later we can get back to the football.
Which concluded with Roberts missing a great chance after some sumptuous play. Fear not though, we put the game to bed. Hereford lookimg to get back in the game. McAlinden added a third and Beestin with an absolute rocket, that Butterfield would have been proud of.
Final whistle, 4-1, another love in with the benches. Andy Butler could have took them all 💪🏼😂 Its never boring down at Scunthorpe United. Last home game of the season against Blyth, turn up and get behind the team. Let’s keep pushing for that 2nd place finish.

I went to King's Lynn vs Hereford and I thought Hereford fans were class I’ve always had a soft spot for them
As a hereford fan, i can say i avoided the 5-1 drudging video of yours from when we had you down at our place. Nonetheless the better team won, fair play. For hereford this season, we are just trying to enjoy the ride as fans, arguably the best season we've had, going from manager to manager and being served nothing but drudge. So, fair play.

I enjoyed the afternoon. Hereford were the best team in the first half, in my opinion. Scunny didn’t put in enough shots in this half. Then, in the second half, Scunny were on fire, commanding the middle of the park, winning the loose ball and looking the fitter of the two teams. Some cracking goals, especially Alfie's. Full marks to the Hereford supporters who never stopped chanting all game. It was nice also to reminisce with the Hereford supporter from Lincoln in the car park afterwards. We remembered the 70s like it was yesterday. Hoping to be at GP next Saturday. Keep up with the great vlogs Gareth. I also wore a Scunny replica shirt yesterday, so you can now say that I'm a part time Scunny at least😊.
Been looking forward to this episode! I think we often have the best seats in the house.

Thank you. Definitely the best fans we’ve had visit, for me. Non stop for the whole game and some. Who knows our paths may cross again next season. Though in the nicest way possible, I hope not. I’d just be happy to end up out the relegation places, if we were in NL next season.

Yes and Banbury managed a draw in a near same scenario except they were at home. Could be worse, you could follow Truro and the fixtures they have, everyone away from home too 🤦🏻
Great result but we must get to the bottom of why we play like we did first half and not do it in ANY of the remaining games. Scunny fans understandably quiet first half then brilliant second half. Hereford played very well and their fans were their 12th and 13th men. Hereford and their fans deserve some good fortune . IF we play consistently well for the remaining games I wouldn’t want to be the opposition.
We always have a good/bad half it seems. Doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for it either. Though yes we need to get out of it and have two good halves in games. Though looking at the season so far, it seems set that that’s how games will go for the rest of the season too. Does pain me to say that.
Yes Hereford fans were fantastic from before kick off till after full time. Definitely sounded more than 219 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

If that's how your bench deals with a very good win I'd hate to see them in defeat. Shame on them.
We only fought because they threw something at us. They also ran into OUR technical area trying to get the ball. That's why the red cards were handed out in the first place.
To be honest, Hereford had absolutely no business entering the Scunthorpe box. Or throwing a drinks bottle at them. We won 4-1, which was the best possible response.
