I'm especially surprised they would change the 18th century English setting of the fantasy sequences, given how popular the Recency period always is with audiences nowadays.
Save it? From what? This version was very clever but the song is a classic, brilliantly written by Mr Lerner, and stands up quite well enough on its own. ps boy, is it fun to sing at karaoke.
When any actor stands on a couch it goes community theatre instantly
“What kind of doctor are you?”
Who would’ve thought.
This comment is exactly why I came here.
I loved the show, and I wish it could have run longer.
Always loved this show! He sounds great.
nobody beats john collum singing this
Copy that.
what a brilliant vreative thing to do with the show.
Did you see it? The reworking of the book was absolutely idiotic and that's why it didn't work despite the great score and cast.

it was certainly was better than what Vincente Minnelli and Streisand did with it....
@@richardmayora1289 like the original book was that great? What you find idiotic others may find progressive and inspired....chacun a son gout
Robert Goulet rocks this song..
John Cullum sang it first.
Fabulous.X
In a towel (from a shower or a bath). Wrapped in Saran (see-through). This gentleman seems obsessed with seeing this lady in an undressed state
well...it was in the original lyric..." come back to me..as a girl..as a boy"..so maybe Lerner was toying with the idea right from the start..😉
Why is the sequel never the equal, why is there no Encore.
great
I don't remember, ... did she come back to him?
3:43 with your hair on a plane :)
With your head on a plate!
well at least the producers knew to double the vocals on this in an attempt to save it.

I wish that he appeared in the film instead of colorless vapid Yves Montand.
Mr. Connick was a child when the film came out,.
Montand had sex appeal and charisma...I think his part was.. Neglected. He once said (it) wasn't a wonderful movie experience.
