Neversoft’s Spider-Man 2000 was actually the Highest Rated Spider-Man game up until Insomniac’s Spider-Man released for PS4. All the games in between usually received mixed reception. But these two games are the ones that stand out the most.
The voice actor who voices Spider Man in this game is Rino Romano. Who also voices Spider Man in the short lived Spider Man Unlimited cartoon. Eduardo in Extreme Ghostbusters. And of course Batman in The Batman!
It's crazy to think that this was being developed alongside THPS2. Neversoft was insanely versatile. They made GUN at the same time they were making Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. RIP Neversoft
Easily one of my favorite games on PS1. What I love about this game is that it's not tied to any movie or TV show. It stands on it's own. A definite PS1 classic.
That’s what I love about it as well! I prefer when comic book games do their own thing rather than follow a movies plot. Spider-Man for ps4 had a ton of success doing its own thing as well
LMAO. When Kenny names the save file "ass", Spidey just PAWNCHES the word out into something "cute". 🤣🤣🤣🤣 This is awesome. I never noticed this at all last my brother payed the game and I watched.
I had the N64 version which instead of the moving cutscenes had comic panels for those parts, which honestly was pretty cool back then. This game was definitely the skeleton for almost all 3d Spider-man games going foward, at least control scheme wise. I don't think there has been a Spider-man game on a playstation system that didn't have web swinging as R2 or triangle as a web button of some kind.
I used to have this game back in the day real classic plan on playing it again at some point but I think Maximum Carnage is the first good spiderman game obviously some people would disagree with that because it's hard to complete
Did you ever play web of shadows? It had pretty awful voice acting and a weak story but the combat was super fun. That one, this one from the ps1 era, the new one on ps4 and shattered dimensions are my favorites
@@why2k87 well Ig just really knowledge of spiderman, his villains and other characters. Like there's quite a few characters from the spiderman series (and others) that get given no context to who they are if you don't already know them.
Same! It was one of the only games I had back then and I played through it so many times, I still remember every single mission vividly especially the race against venom, the fight with mysterio and the part at the end with carnage ock chasing you. That part scared me the first time I played it lol
I thought Spiderman ps4 was generally alright. Just felt like by the end of the game melee was worthless and it was so much easier to instakill dudes by launching them off buildings or sticking them to walls
Absolute gem and one of the overlooked ps1 classics.

That intro with Stan Lee never gets old.

"I'm already at full health"
What a childhood classic! "Get over it Gorgon!"
The most iconic title theme for a spider-man game, i swear
Surfin' the web, surfin' the web!
This is THE game of my childhood
This was one of the first ever games my dad personally bought for me when I was 8. A special place in my heart til this day
7:42 The fuck you're talking about? Batman got great 2D games on the Snes and Genesis. It always had great games.
The spider man arcade game from Sega in 1991 is a final fight type game with Hawkeye, sub mariner, and black cat. You guys should play that one. 🙂
I need to put the bomb in a… SAFE… place lol.
I used to have this game back in the day real classic plan on playing it again at some point but I think Maximum Carnage is the first good spiderman game obviously some people would disagree with that because it's hard to complete
This could've gotten a full playthrough, as it's on the shorter side of games.
Damn I remember this game I loved it
One of my all time favorites
God I fucking loved this game as a kid. Haven't played it in years but would love an excuse to do so.
The game is so good it got a sequel !
Hope this game gets a remake like the Tony Hawk games
Best Spiderman VA. Period
Christopher Daniel Barnes right? Was the VA for the 1994 animated series.
Personally I prefer part 2 with Electro. The levels just seemed more challenging.
My first video game ever, absolute classic
*I'm Already At Full Health*
This game was so good back in the day lord
This is probably my all-time favorite Spider-Man game. I played it religiously on my N64.
Did you ever play web of shadows? It had pretty awful voice acting and a weak story but the combat was super fun. That one, this one from the ps1 era, the new one on ps4 and shattered dimensions are my favorites
I loved this game but man if you don't know a good bit about the lore, you stand no chance lol
Whats the lore?

@@kadeoxys3470 there are character bios that explain the characters to the uninitiated
Loved this game as kid
I had this on the N64. Fun game
One of my favorite Spider man games, man this game is a classic.
Yes, it is the same voice actor from the Capcom Vs. series.
and Spider-man Unlimited.
You're telling me you guys never played this game before? what rock were you living under?
I'm already at full health.
This game was my favorite on the ps1. I’d use to beat it in one sitting without a memory card a bunch of times
Same! It was one of the only games I had back then and I played through it so many times, I still remember every single mission vividly especially the race against venom, the fight with mysterio and the part at the end with carnage ock chasing you. That part scared me the first time I played it lol
@@jeremyroberts8822 that carnage ock part was so stressful
Loved this game on N64 when I was a kid
I still own this game with my ps1 play it now and again love the game
Kenny is naturally funny
Played this non stop on the PS1 demo disk from Playstation Magazine
Goddamn I love this game.
I beat this game so many times as a kid
Find some spider man comic for new custom.
4:09 sounding like Filthy Frank LOL
you guys should try "What If Mode" of this game, it's kinda funny :v
I'd still prefer to play this over any spider man game ANYDAY
I still have this game so fucking good
I'm already at full health!
Omg my baby my childhood game
I thought Spiderman ps4 was generally alright. Just felt like by the end of the game melee was worthless and it was so much easier to instakill dudes by launching them off buildings or sticking them to walls
