I find it very unteresting how the way he tones words is exactky the same as when he speaks in english, yet it sounds completely fluent chinese. It's like you can tell it's him speaking but it sounds completely normal.

What does that mean (the Chinese word, not...nevermind)? I hear it a lot at work when Chinese employees converse in Mandarin when talking about programming (I work at a software company and they are developers, so I'm presuming that's what they are talking about)
Charles Foster Kane it means "that" literally, that is why it is heard so often. It is also a stall word, like um, or uhh, so you might hear it in succession to buy time for the next thought
(Note: I'm learning Mandarin, and am nowhere near fluent, so native speakers please correct me if I'm wrong.) One meaning is "That (thing)". But I think it's also used sometimes as a filler word, kind of like how English speakers might say "um", "uh" or "like".

Well, Chinese languages are a big family while sharing the same writing system, yet the pronunciation of them are quite different (sometimes even grammars and usage of words). Generally even if you both use Chinese but with different dialects, there's no way you can understand each other.

Can confirm, but sometimes we compress 那一个 to something that's pronounced like Nèi gè, which sounds like the n word
