Focus is on the tempo, focus is not the terrain.
If focusing on the tempo, the body will have to deal with whichever terrain presents itself at that specific moment (mogul front side, back side, top side, lateral side, or trough).
Some skiers only want to come down a specific part of the mogul, and will think about this the entire way down the field. This drill helps get them out of their comfort zone by NOT focusing on the mogul feature, but focusing on the tempo. Good idea.

Excellent. I've added this to my practice runs.

Yes, it sure does. It was made a while ago. I hope my videos have gotten better. Have you seen any other of my videos? I hope so!! Enjoy.

I thought you were saying to have them perform this drill, through moguls, in a wedge position? But, when you demonstrated, you were in a parallel position. So, I'm confused.

The way he says to perform the drill does not work for skiing bumps so he had to ski in a more efficient way.

It is difficult to visually show the dramatic pressure change from leg to leg, with pressures of 80/20 to 90/10 as described. You have to go out and try it.

I believe a person develops theirs style. Ironically its very similar to everyone else. I usually skip across the tops on baby bumps and absorb in steeper bumps. I know one thing that important, is the keeping your hand forward an weight over the skis.

Are suggesting the wedge position while training in the flats?

Hmm old bones tend to avoid the falling; this will require faith and perhaps padding ^u^

Say what? Are you teaching a wedge turn or Tick talk or ? Certainly the worst mogul lesson I have seen.

Not a fan. Way too abstract for kids and if you're not a high level ski instructor parts of this exercise are confusing and convoluted.

The video is intended for their coaches, not the kiddos themselves. For example, he's Incorporated the 5 fundamentals of skiing in his presentation.

@@gogglebro9421 I feel ya. Sometimes certain progressions land with one person and are lost with another. This one didn't connect with my learning style but I see other folks dug it so no biggie.

@@weirdbeard1980 Christian: I get what you're saying. For me, figuring out ski instruction videos is an art. I'm nearly as interested in understanding how the information is presented as in the ski techniques or tactics being presented. Bottom line is that I've benefitted from adapting to other learning styles along the way.

A 3 1/2 minute video has its limitations. I believe the wedge part was intended to practice on smooth terrain. He didn't explain it clearly.
