Tampereen Jäähalli is not actually used anymore by KooVee since their mens hockey club went bankcrupt this spring. Tappara and Ilves U20 plays there and other juniors
finnish national football teams home arena is now olympic stadium after it finished the renovations at helsinki and ilves fc's home stadium is newly built tammelan stadium. No one uses the old häkametsä arena anymore since koovee went under after failing to secure mestis license
Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge was way ahead of the curve with the 'adding a few apartments in to secure government funding' trick, they did it back in the 1930s
tampereen jäähalli is actually called hakametsän jäähalli. Hakametsä does hold quite a bit of finnish hockey history and is still very much liked, even over the nokia-areena by some people and in common speak atleast tampereen stadion is actually called ratinan stadion, since its in ratina
Nokia Arena was originally supposed to be called "Uros Live", but that caused a strange mix of uproar and laughter, as "uros" means either a male animal or a very masculine man (although the Uros company claimed that their name was short of "Universal Roaming Solutions"), however the company was found the have severe financial difficulties and the sponsorship was dropped. (Uros has since gone defunct and there's a financial crime investigation going on). However, Nokia Arena itself is a silly name, since Tampere is next to... the actual city of Nokia, in which the phone company started before it was a phone company (it used to make all kinds of things until people started thinking that one giant company making all kinds of things is not best idea and for example, the Nokian car/truck tyre brand is the Nokia's former tyre division). I'm waiting for the city of Nokia to rename their ice hall as Tampere Arena as an act of revenge.
Oh shit I did NOT expect to see my home city on this channel. Thank you for this!
Yay for hockey arenas, something that usually doesn't dominate the story.
0:35 I'm in that photo! I'm one of the flashlights somewhere in the top-right corner!

Amazing
Still waiting for the Liiga Arenas, but still Tampere is a good Start.

"The Stadiums of Tampere" is my new favorite most random YT video title.
Well done for picking up that the speedway GP series has been held (twice) in Tampere.
Being Tampere born and bred, I can attest to the yellow thing indeed having rabies. Could plausibly explain the last few decades of failure 😎💙🧡

Or was it Tiger Stadium with dorm rooms? Await the Baton Rouge video for the answer.
@@gregsells8549 oh wait memorial is southern's stadium right
@@albertmiller2electricbooga897 No Memorial is a city-owned (BREC) facility used by high schools, near the State Capitol.
Do Turku next we have the best arenas/stadiums in the country😊
It's in the works.
The Nokia ringtone at had me actually checking for a split second if there was a phone lying around.

Marseille is in the works.
Stadium Aussie back in it! What's the music being played?
It's a slowed down version of Rewired - The Whole Other. I think it's on the TH-cam Audio Library.
@@TheWideWorldofStadiums Nice one mate

Keskustorilla tavataan!
Perkele!

Nice drive-by on Ilves' logo😂
This has to be the most niche city yet
What do you mean?
@@AveragePostnordHater like the city with the least cultural power or name recognition outside its region
Where and when is Glorious Olympian Marseille?
KooVee does not play at hakametsä after being bankrupt
Dirt Cheap 😀
Don’t you ever disrespect Ilves’ lynx logo! It’s full of history and very unique. 🤫
I like it. But he clearly has rabies.
