Isnt Inclusivity means that you are PROUD of your roots? She was wearing ETHNIC OUTFIT, of course she would be asked " Where is she from?" She should have been PROUD of saying " I am of Caribbean DESCENT" This lady has been found to have ANTI-Royal family sentiment on her Tweeter. This seems like a SET UP. She went there to be OFFENDED..

@eveyrapp2078 Well said. Ms. Fulani proudly promotes her heritage and ethnicity on her social media platforms. Her style promotes her ethnicity which I simply admire. And yes, as Lady Susan Hussey, I would indeed enjoy conversation and yes, I too would inquire about her heritage. Such a shame that VICTIMHOOD and Cancel Culture is deeply rooted in the mindset of too many people. Objectively, the situation appears to be opportunistic & a complete set up for a chance to stand on one's soap box to cry racism. 🙄

What I find interesting is how the charity boss remembered the conversation word by word. Personally, as a person of colour, I've been asked this many many times ..I have NO issue telling someone my heritage. I'm proud of it, I take it as interest unless it's obvious it's more than that. That's just me.

Either the woman making the complaint has secretly recorded the conversation and that's why she can repeat it verbatim, or some 'embellishment' has undoubtedly occurred, probably to make it appear worse than it was. Nonetheless, I think it is appropriate for Lady H to have stepped down, and I don't understand why she was not retired when the Queen died.

Who even invited her to the palace or where did this happen? She didn't even dress like us,Nigerians. The igbo tribe she is from originally do not even dress like that. Harmless questions turned to racism questioning. Ngozi wasn't and isn't proud of her heritage, Nigeria. I'm Nigerian and was born in Ghana and I get it all the time in Nigeria where people ask where I'm from because of my accent. I still explain all the time that I was born in Ghana but my grand parents are Nigerians and I count myself as one too. My parents were born in Ghana as well. I'm not surprised as she said in verbatim how the conversations went because she might have gone there wired as she is the wife of Rachel Megan Raglan Markle's Nigerian photographer who does all the mixed up Photoshops for Harry's wife. Ngozi went prepared to fight and probably record conversations. What's wrong with one asking where you are from? If I were the white, I will stop making blacks their citizens because every harmless questions is now termed as racism.

The Palace needs to stand up against this type of race baiting. Their immediate reaction against a loyal lady in waiting is horrible. She deserves an apology. The RF can not react in fear, but from a place of confidence and loyalty to those who serve and love them.

Piers, Piers, Piers,... You're a journalist, right? You should do your investigation, before forming your opinion and judging people who are not there to defend themselves. If you did that, you would EASILY find out who is Mrs Ngozi Fulani, what's the mission of her organization, and what opinions she has expressed in the past in relation to the royal family. It is SO EASY these days to do that, and I'm not even a British journalist.

If she was really upset, why didn’t she leave, or speak with the family and the Palace. Why take it to social media? There’s footage of her speaking animatedly with the Queen in the middle of the crowd. Apparently her charity did well out of it, and some of her previous tweets indicate support for Meghan Markle. That said, IMHO nobody who wasn't a witness shd pronounce that it was racism or that it wasn't coz communication is not merely by words but also tone & body language. Ms Ngozi's the one who's had the experience & she has told us of her experience. Non-witnesses hv no right to invalidate what she has said was her experience. They shd not pronounce Lady Hussey guilty either. We hv not heard her account. We hv not seen video of the encounter to observe words, tone & body language of both women for ourselves. At this point the public, for or against, is being a judge that's unworthy of his robe. The whole thing's unfortunate.

Considering her real name is Marlene Headley and shes British and changed her name to an African one, wheedled her way into the Palace by attaching herself to another charity after publicly accusing KC and QC of DV against Meghan and Harry and was dressed in African style dress with the national flag colors on her head scarf, yes she stood out from the crowd thats what she wanted, Lady H 's job is to greet guests and ask where they are from and get personal background information to then pass it onto QC for when they are introduced,,
She was not personally invited by special invitation, so no detailed information on her, she purposely dressed up to stand out and be approached and asked questions. Its not covert racism the only covert racism is the way Marlene covertly obtained her invite to the palace to then be dressed in African dress with an African name when shes British in order to abstract a "where are you from" the intended victim being accused racist would have been QC. Its not racist to ask anyone where they are from.
Well even at 83 and partially deaf Lady H was honorable and did her job completely well, her job is get background information and names and interesting information to pass onto to QC in order to start a conversation, she took a bullet aimed at QC, Marlene was always leaving the palace screaming racism from the highest mountain and Lady H protected QC from that at least.
I wont just say its suspicious at what the intentions of a women that had already publicly accused the RF of racism and DV is to why she would orchestrate an invite to the palace for herself, because its clear to me it was set up and the intended victim Queen Camilla.
Should Lady H of touched her hair, no, should she have said "your people" no, is it inappropriate yes, but shes 83, partially deaf and not upto date on woke culture and the word police. But hey, Lady H knows know and will never forget how they have destroyed 60 years of dedicated trustworthy service to the RF in one stroke.
Well congratulations Marlene you bullied an old lady out of a job.
Congratulations KC by accepting Lady H;s resignation you have helped validated Meghan and Harrys claims of structural racism and put William and Catherine in a very precarious position while in the US.

Lady Hussey has worked at the palace for 62 years and is 83 years old. Ngozi had full African regalia on in a meeting where people were there from abroad. Lady Hussey asked where she was from, and Ngozi replied "Sistah Space". Lady Hussey replied, " No where do you come from?" Ngozi " We're based in Hackney". Lady Hussey "No what part of Africa are you from?" Ngozi " I don't know, they didn't leave any records." It was clear that all Lady Hussey was asking was where Ngozi was from. The problem is the words......." I don't know, they didn't leave any records." It first implies that Ngozi is from Africa and secondly the remark is patronizing to Lady Hussey making her feel that she is ignorant. There was nothing to this incident and it has been used as race-baiting. Racism should be called out wherever it is. I do agree that she should stay as far away from the royal household as possible. Why should she stay near people who would so easily throw her under the bus? I’ve lost any respect I had for this royal family. They’re essentially letting Meghan Markle dictate how they go about things now, because had she not accused the royal family of racism a year ago, I doubt they would have had this knee jerk reaction. Piers has NOT got it right this time but more like what Oprah did with Harry & Meghan, by NOT asking hard questions about Faluni's claims :
    1. Why do we hear only Faluni's version? Why hasn't Lady S's version not being heard? Why did Faluni record the conversation & how did the Palace Officials allow her in, if she had a secret recording device on her? Did Piers check to see if there is a true recording but plays the transcript recorded by the producers?
    2. Was Faluni coming to the function to deliberately bait Lady S in favour of Meghan as she has tweeted in favour of Meghan twice before though she has denied it? There are rumours she was "planted" to cause chaos & tagged along with someone else to the Palace?? Did Piers check these tweets out?
    3. Did Piers check Faluni's statement that after her conversation with Lady S, she was in a blur but photos show her in animated conversation with Camilla???
Piers I like you but you are slacking so do your homework pls? Shocking to call Lady S stupid! I think that refers to your very bad research & putting all the blame on Lady S, without hearing both parties, plus the videos & photos of the function to ascertain Faluni's claims. I'm from the Commonwealth & I'm asked all the time about my ethinic background so can't see how it's termed racist at all, as we are all from different parts of the world.

Oh Piers I am surprised you fell for this, you of all people !!! This Ngozi Fulani came in full "Fancy Dress", leopard skin dress, tooth necklace, dreadlocks and a tiara ... NATURALLY she wanted attention and Fulani is a great supporter of your old friend MeGain Markle. She also seems to have a bit of an identity crisis as her real name is Marlene Headley, her Mother was called Mildred and her father Gladstone Headley and her twin sister has the most English names of all ... Sandra Richards. The job of a Lady in waiting is to speak to people, find interesting people and introduce them to the Queen Consort. If the security had done their job, they would have seen that she is an anti royal with at least 30 tweets against the Royal Family and is very pro Meghan Markle !!! After 60 years of service Lady Susan could smell the BS a mile away !!! Still think she is a racist ??? And best of all in 2021 she Tweeted "I am glad hypocrite Piers left ITV" !!!

It was a badly worded question to a person in full African national dress who runs a FOR BLACKS ONLY charity! Who's the racist?

  • @acsahgold
    @acsahgold 2 ปีที่แล้ว +38

This is beyond stupid. Honestly this 'racism' casted a shadow and diverted attention from the cause that the charity is supporting.
Ngozi could have been a bit grown up and answered it straight instead of evading it as if she was ashamed of her heritage or something. Lady Hussey could have dropped ended the conversation probable thought this line of interaction is not racist. She is from a different era so its understandable.
Imagine how the conversation could have gone
    LSH: where are you from?
Ngozi: I'm British, my parents came to UK in the 50s from Africa...
LSH: oh how wonderful. It is lovely to the work you have done with this charity.....
    End of conversation.
I don't think it's right for Lady Hussey to resign. And Prince William could have addressed the issue better. Again I think if he in anyway supported his godmother he will be branded as a racist. Not good PR for him.
If we start firing people for what they say in ignorance we will never solve the problem. It will just make people not talk about the issue.
Be proud of being British but also your heritage. Don't cry 'racism' for every minor issue because when something big happens no one will listen to it.

You have just written exactly what my thoughts are about this conversation. Ngosi's original answers sounded as if she wanted to conceal her origins, and as she didn't give a clear answer, Lady Susan pursued the subject.. The way the conversation could have gone is as you have given in your comment. I am still interested to know how Ngosi was able to give a full word for word transcript of the conversation - either she has an astounding memory, or she was recording, and, if so, why?

@@janettesinclair6279 You’re an idiot too. Blaming the victim. First, who gives Lady Hussey the right to interrogate the guests in such a fashion? She was simply not satisfied with Ngozi’s answer. She was looking to hear Africa. And When she didn’t get the answer to match her prejudices, she began to probe further. She didn’t ask Ngozi where her heritage derives from. She questioned her Britishness based on origin. Secondly, everyone knows that this line of questioning “where are you REALLY from” etc is very racist. It’s a common question white ppl ask non-whites on a daily basis if in majority white countries. So stop defending and making excuses for Lady Hussey’s racist conduct. And stop trying to gaslight and blame the victim.

@@MarciaSantos-ox1fk Lady Susan was there to converse with the guests, and to show interest in them. Interrogate is a strong word to use, and if Ngosi had been more open at the outset then the "interrogation" could have stopped there. I agree that Lady Susan should have stopped her questions when it became obvious that Ngosi was holding back for some reason. And I do not appreciate being called an idiot, Marcia - you know nothing about me.

Why did the woman dress like an African to go to the Palace if she a born in the UK? Anyone would think she'd just landed from Africa dressed like that. Shut up Piers going on about racism. I'm always asked where I'm from and I'm white living in Australia.

It is Normal question and if someone find this racism that it's something wrong with that person. I am interested in other people's cultures and backgrounds.
