You have to calibrate your meter by specific solution or known solution that comes along with your meter. In DIST 4 tester, the calibration point is 12.88 µS/cm EC value.

when i buy them, do they come with some calibration fluid, or are they pre-calibrated, or do i need to buy that extra right away?

Hi azim, for Drinking water, 50-1500 uS/cm is a good range.
Ir depends of the water source, take the lowest CE value source as best.
