You guys are really pissing me off. Once and for all, Travis plays the drums. However, Trav was new and wanted to assimilate, that's why he plays the same way Scott did.
Travis646 Mutt was the only song that Scott wrote from EOTS. The rest were written and recorded after Scott's departure. Travis' drums sound different as he was still "new" to the band and didn't want to overstep his bounds right away as he felt blink had already established an identity. Once things started to take off, he became more comfortable and his drumming became a little more inventive.
Chris Near that's what I assumed. I listened to the drum track from Mutt and I noticed the drums sound different. There's a lot of "extras" in the song, if you know what I mean.
I love this song, it's just so simple and great. I find it perfect for reflecting, drifting off to sleep, studying, pretty much anything. It has more to it than you'd think.
Been a Blink fan since dot Just turned 50 There music have been with me through the whole journey Taking me back to moments of great joy and also times of heartache and sorrow Thankyou so much Just discovered this track Immediate chills of warmth and yet sadness overwhelmed me Reminds me of all things Blink😊
I know how to go back and live forever with eternal youth. Not kidding. These blink songs also get me down because its the sounds you would hear before clown world began. If you want to be saved ill tell you how
From a guy that played this (your TH-cam post) over and over since 2008 -- thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I come back to this all the time!! LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
Listening to this song, makes me wonder what the lyrics could of been. Sounds like the last day of summer or a house party or running at night. I dunno.
I have a feeling the lyrics would go something like... Push it out, fake a smile Avert disaster just in time I need a drink, cause in a while Worthless answers from friends of mine It's dumb to ask, cool to ignore Girls possess me but they're never mine I made my entrance Avoided hazards Checked my engine I fell behind
to all blink fans. this is seriously every old school song they made jammed into three instrumental minutes. lol. Adams Song, Family Reunion, I Wont Be Home For Christmas, Up All Night, etc.
+Ethan Doughty but was written in 2003. You can hear Tom playing the riff in some MTV promotion show for the release of Self Titled. Probably what he meant.... Sorry for being 6 months late lol.
i totally agree with you dude. blink's attitude and stage presence is amazing and i love them for it, not to mention their amazing songs. tom has to be one of the funniest guys i have ever seen!
Why is it that the best songs by the best bands are always demos? "I Can Tell" by Saosin; "Bury Me" by Finch; this by Blink-182, et al. Depressing trend considering the immense level of squandered potential.
Adam Karasek the bass line is from many of their songs. It's all about leads sitting on the bass in perfect law of music/ perfect scale for banded chord pitch weights of grace. God. It's the different tones that matter.🎼🎵
+Santa Six "got" past tense. Not now or in the future. When they were real blink 182 i wish i could have another one of those albums. @@bigstar66 they did, the song is Story of a Lonely Guy (verses and intro) and the chorus is the bridge to Rock Show (only slower) listen to the bassline for both "black and white picture of her on my wall" etc
@@JPalermo Very interesting, I definitely hear it on SoaLG, a little harder to hear on TRS. But to be honest that Indonesian cover is better than both of those combined.
Some riffs sound like Story of a Lonely Guy, but intro (bass and guitar) Sound more like Sirens or Adam's Song bridge (or interlude, not sure how to call it).
its an instrumental, and yeah it was on a demo, the enema of the state demo ... it was leaked onto the net adn people got a hold of it, but it was cut and didnt make it onto the album...
@crazygame7 actually the drums are similar to scott. and this is coming from a drummer who devoted a lot of last summer to learning and playing travis barker drums. there is a huge difference in general between the 2, but this song does actually sound like scott apart from the end ( 2:51 on)
its blink it was recorded just after scott left and travis joined its called enema of the state(demo) it has some songs that were later included in enema of the state
i can understand that, mine is carousel cause thats where i am right now, the song talks about growing up having to get a job just to sleep in a bed, it talks about relazing nothing is free, and a tank of gas is a treasure to me, am 18 now, and the world just got real for me, i already miss highschool lol didnt think i ever would lol

@amedeo24 this is one hundred percent scott. it is so easy to tell based on drum fills. scott does whats necessary while travis will kill the song with creativity. this is def scott

the beginning bass progression is in like, in every other blink song. its a I V vi IV pattern, which is featured in probably all of the ones named below.
it sound like the bass line from i wont be home from christmas, which i know everyone has said. But it also sounds like the opening bass line from story of a lonely guy.
this song is soooo awesome,i ll cover it with my band and try to add some lyrics, damn respect to BLINK 182 i wish this song was on the enema but well i can enjoy this too =)
You guys are really pissing me off. Once and for all, Travis plays the drums. However, Trav was new and wanted to assimilate, that's why he plays the same way Scott did.
Travis646 It's obviously Peter Criss from KISS playing the drums. Come on man.
Travis646 Mutt was the only song that Scott wrote from EOTS. The rest were written and recorded after Scott's departure. Travis' drums sound different as he was still "new" to the band and didn't want to overstep his bounds right away as he felt blink had already established an identity. Travis646 I think Scott was much faster, that's all. Drumming isn't too much talent compared to vocal/ guitar/ keyboard balancing in a band bro.😊
im gay
The magic thing is, even if it doesn't have lyrics, it's still sounds like Blink.
It reminds me of regular show vibe
Yeah man overboard especially
1:16 gives me chills for some reason. I miss this sound from blink.
same, i love this band so fucking much😭
tom will do that :)
that dude ranch special sound
it feels like a mix of Dude Ranch because of the punk feeling of it and Self Titled because of how emotional it sounds

Freya2277 Agreed.
Same here and I’ve been a fan since 2011 I was 13 back then
It was only on the enema demos and never got a official release it’s not even known how it leaked

But this song was written in 1998 so all those songs are irrelevant either way.
Lets say this instrumental song inspired all of the songs you mentioned
I love how bass heavy this is!
The baseline was in story of a lonely guy. Also the chord progression on guitar

emeraldseven agreed! I love “I can tell!” Do you know of a link to a good quality version? I’ve only heard the shitty one on TH-cam.
1:22 that’s undeniably travis. There’s no way Scott plays like that.
It sounds like from I'm Sorry off of Dude Ranch, on that "cause it is almost over" lyrics played with the drums is very similar but faster.
best instrumental ive ever heard for so many reasons
This song makes me so happy :) best instrumental ever why can't more people know about this?
The bass line is from Won't be home for Christmas.
