The cart fee thing, I think it's a bit of a carryover from individual carts during COVID. I loved having my own cart all to myself. I'm guessing a lot of dudes don't like being paired up again in a cart and think they should have to pay half of it now. I'm not arguing that is the correct way to do it, I'm just taking a guess at the causation.
