Fermentation is probably the safest form of food preservation but if you would like some extra reassurance: pH meter I love: amzn.to/4ezR8dU pH calibration solution: amzn.to/3ObCU8h
I just started with fermenting and I am in love with you and your channel.. I'm sucking up all the information you give us. Thank you so much... its helping me so much
I've no experience with a freeze dryer, but I dehydrate my odd ferments on low heat and they wake up and take off. You can use them for a starter, if it's strong enough.
I'm forgetting if I left a message about my slimy Kraut I've been having issues with that like thick brine. But have you ever had this happen and do you know what the reason is for it and I'm wondering if it's safe bor should I toss it? They see if you refrigerate it the thick brine will work itself out and thin out.
I bought them from Ohio stoneware, 8 bought them in large wholesale quantities but I believe they have a site for individual sales too. They’re 3 gallons
Same! I don’t think I’ve ever tested one for myself if it wasn’t for a video. Testing so many batches so often is super fascinating though, it really gives me such a better understanding of the process

I love how excited you get about the pH.

I have the same PH meter. Mine came with an extra prob.
Yes mine did too. I tried getting replacement probes and they’re almost as much as the meter with 2 probes 🤣
I have the same Ph meter. Where did you find those crocks and what size are they?

@@FermentedHomestead Thank you
hi gtsy
I test for other people's sake; not mine.
