Hasbro's transformers figure team should take lessons worth of notes because dang this is a 3rd party figure and 0-1 Studio- Cell "Not Unicron" figure was spot on with the movie (the best transformers movie) and didn't have 15,0000 different planet pieces hanging off the back and side of it ahem haslab unicron. In other words third party companies are doing a million times better than Hasbro has ever done

This figure is more than meets the eye!!! Man this thing is just perfect in both robot mode and truck mode! Thus thing uses black magic for sure!! Sadly this is their last release and I think they have done a splendid job and maybe achieved more than takara Tony could done with their release. I agree! If Hasbro didn't do Galvatron's legs in that fucked up y-position or use grooves, it would not taken about 30 minutes to get the transformation in order.
I think the "Black Magic" of Unique Toys comes from "Inversion of parts". "Inverting" or actually "Flipping and Folding the panels" from Vehicle side to Robot side. Unique Toys makes awesome figures but I think other companies can do it with a little more engineering. Its just Unique Toys Engineers were quick to figure the "Flip and Fold trick" out early in the game. Other companies can work the same Black magic. You don't need to swing this part to somewhere else or have a Vehicle Shell that folds up into a huge backpack. You just Flip and Fold the panels and do it efficiently so that there isn't a huge bulk in any given place in Robot Mode. It may actually be easier to completely invert a figure and completely hide the Vehicle Mode than to leave parts of the Vehicle Showing. This is because an exposed Vehicle part has to swing to the needed location or it must have a Faux Piece that gives the Illusion of full transformation. Just some things to think about.
I’m disappointed that Unique Toys didn’t try to tackle DOTM Shockwave as well, since he’s another character known for being pretty slim and still has yet to get a proper MPM styled figure other than upscales of the Studio Series figure. The fact that we got such a good Galvatron figure before Shockwave is honestly surprising to me. Not that I dislike the Galvatron figure though, as it is pure engineering black magic. Not a big fan of the design, but hey, for a figure like this, it works. Just gotta try imagining that it’s someone else entirely and not Galvatron though. *Lol*
Love the style of transformation sequence as opposed to going super detailed. However, I wouldn't mind if the music was a little softer or just completely absent, but that's just me that likes the the ASMR aspect of transforming these wonderful figures. Great review as always!

That this can even transform is insane. The movie didn't even bother making a transformation. Course, part of it was that Transformium MacGuffin, which made them into this nano machine swarm... But yea...

I think lockdown is still the best UT figure, both his modes are perfect galvatrons vehicle mode has issues in the back so I can’t say it’s the best one but it has the best sculpt
I'm deffinitely gonna have to pick this up for my AOE Unique Toys Peru Kill (Lockdown) and Challenger (Optimus Prime), the robot mode would look even more tremendous if it had a black wash applied to it to get inside all those details to really make them stand out. I feel like they could have gotten away with a Galvatron that did not transform due to the nature of the character in the movie (seriously, transformium?) but they did an absolutely awesome job to conceal all the truck parts within the robot mode and I can imagine what a nightmare it would have been for them to come with engineering design for this figure to transform like that. For that I can easily forgive those kibble on the truck. They definitely did a better job representing Galvatron in a figure than Michael Bay did in a movie.
This figure is almost perfect imo. Although gavatrons roll in aoe wasn't the best, I really appreciate that they were able to sneak the character in there. And it's such a bummer than Dragoon dosen't scale with them. And i would've loved to see an aoe bumblebee from them, I really think they could've pulled it off. I wish they made a drift too. None the less this is an amazing way to close out thier movie figures.

I haven’t looked at much of unique toys transformers products but the only one that ever kinda caught my interest were there combaticons, until I saw the mmc set and preferred that one overall I’ll probably still buy the unique toys one too since I’m a sucker for the combaticons as they’re my fav combiner team. I’m not a bayverse fan but I am impressed with this figure and I’m glad that people who are bayverse fans are getting this.
even though i don't particularly care for the movie designs (i'm here for the transformation), for what it is, this figure is very impressive. alt mode looks great. nothing's worse than a figure that looks awesome in robot mode but the looks of alt are more of an afterthought. well done on that. that galvatron becoming that truck so cleanly is insane. the engineering on some of these 3rd party figures genuinely blows my goddamn mind. it's still SUPER weird to see glavatron as a truck. there are enough trucks in tf, but there's only one massive space canon.
Ahhh, so you can fold away Galvatron's arm blades for the truck mode... that was something some early reviews apparently had missed, I was prepared to write it off as a necessary sacrifice for an incredible robot mode, but knowing it can actually store away, and quite cleverly- _I want it even more now_
I think this transformation is hella complex, but at least it ain't spaghetti. Each little joint is stiff, so I don't think any step is frustrating. BLACK MAGIC INCARNATE!

Update: I'm beginning to think I wasted my money on this thing. No matter what I do, the tabs around 12:26 in this video just will not connect on mine. I'm afraid the amount of force I have to use is going to break the damn thing. Update 2: Just got them to snap together, but there is no reason these tabs have to be so tight.

Yea he is, if you have a look at some reference photos for this figures alt mode, it shows those panels on his arms joined and concealing that gap
