This is fantastic! I'm glad to see them both together! Now all they need to do is make an album together!

Wow! Needless to say, maybe there has been a bass duet of Sophisticated Lady done before--but I've never heard one. Add Esperanza's vocal to it and you've got magic! SMOKIN'!!!

@thomasarce The song is Sophisticated Lady composed by Duke Ellington and it was written in 1932. It is a beutiful song that was a feature for baritone saxophonist Harry Carney in the Duke Ellington Orchestra.

I like McBride's playing with the bow. We don't hear jazz bassists using their bow often enough.

I mean, obviously it's Christian and Esperanza so the playing is flipping amazing and that voice... but I wish they'd managed to record and mix the basses better. This does them absolutely no justice at all!!

does anyone know the title of this song? I wanna learn this on the bass too... too bad I don't own an upright bass yet so I end up making fretles tone on my jazz bass but I swear, I will get my hands on one someday! such a beautiful team these two! :)

There's just something about a bass playing woman. Makes a bass playing brother want to play with her. Ol' Christian is in bass player heaven right about now...jealous 😕

To keithurduecroft: Though she's an AMAZING talent, I agree...her hair could use a smoother updated, chic look.
