Hey Emily! Your reluctance of reducing your pan percentage by finishing a shadow is valid! Why don't you start tracking empty pans as well and add it into your calculations so you can create an "empty percentage" that way you can track the success of finishing a shadow without feeling sad about the pan percentage going down? I use a pie-chart to calculate pans and empties so I'm seeing progress across all types of panning
I think it’s totally acceptable to still count a finished shadow as a pan hit because you’ve worked so hard on hitting that pan! 🩷 You could always do a refresh at the start of each year and recount your total eyeshadows & pans. I’ve decided to do that this year because it’s so much more motivating.

Oh no!! 🃏 I'm still trying to figure out what my joker should be if I get one this year. The first thing that comes to mind is a hot pink eyeliner I have. Or maybe an eyeliner in a pot. Or a loose pigment. So many choices.
I would focus on the eyeshadow palette to hopefully roll out next time since it works so well for this time of year, but that's just me. 💚
Never talk about the joker!! lol The only shade I have ever finished is "Fresh" in the ABH Sultry palette which is very similar to this shade you rolled in. You got this!!
It takes me like minimum of 6 months of working on an eyeshadow to hit pan, and I wear eyeshadow every day. I feel like a lot of panning content creators use a lot of product and waste a lot of product to just hit pan. Plus I hate wearing the same eyeshadow every day. Don’t beat yourself up or compare yourself, everyone uses makeup differently.

The joker was very funny! I barely made progress on my goals because i've had my dominant side shouler operated. I've had a brice (that's the word, right?) for 3 weeks and after was still very painful to use. So brush my teeth with my right arm, apply my skincare, sure. But my makeup... no lol.

I think if focus on the yellow eyeliner you can have that one out and then you can focus on finishing the cosmic brushes palette in march. I love your eye look and dang that joker! But that being said I am glad you rolled it now it means you actually have time to work on that shade and honestly just use it to start every look! Its boring but it will go if you get in that habit good luck!

I wish you could still buy the peach perfect foundation I used mine up in rolling 10 pan in 2020 and I miss it lol
I got the Joker last month for my second card on the first time ever doing this project! I rolled in MAC loose glitter in Reflects Antique Gold which I've had for about 10 years and used maybe twice. I only set a 5 use goal but seeing you pull in something so challenging for you and set a goal to finish makes me think I need to up my game! Glitter is definitely a going out type of product and as I rarely go out anymore I don't have many opportunities to use it on my eyes, but I've been doing my nails again lately, so maybe I should learn how to use it as nail polish and try to use it up that way. Best of luck finishing your first eyeshadow! Love your project so much. I've binge watched the playlist this past week and have found some great channels to subscribe to.
I'm so happy you found more channels to watch through the playlist!! That's exactly why I love putting it together :) I think 5 uses on a glitter is challenging enough lol

Just wanted to mention the tf foundation actually isn’t an airless pump. There’s actually a TON of product still in the tube after you can’t pump anymore out. I think I had nearly a month’s worth of product still if I remember right 🤯

I don’t know if I have ever finished an eyeshadow too. Oh boy I’m just realizing that I did my update wrong 😂 I pilled 5 new cards that turned into 6 new cards oh well. Will keep on going
i totally get what you mean about being hesitant to finish eyeshadows due to pan percentage. i was the exact same way. i decided to completely stop tracking pan percentage because it made me so sad lol. its so satisfying to see a completely empty pan in a palette though, i think once you finish it you will feel really accomplished! also your eye look it GIVING today i love it!!

Doesn't an empty pan still count as a pan?? Isn't it the ultimate pan?! I think you should still count it. It's the biggest pan you can get!
I just saw Dora (Fuchsia Soul) talk about this in her recent pan those eyeshadows video and she decided that when she finishes a shadow, she will keep it in her pan percentage until the end of the year. Then, at the beginning of next year, she will reset her pan percentage and remove the pan from her numbers.
Maybe you could do something like this? It would allow you to enjoy your accomplishment for a while before removing it from your number of pans and dropping your percentage.
I definitely think that's fair. I guess I was considering removing it, bc I was going to remove the eyeshadow from the total amount I have.

Also. Personally, if I have an empty shade I still count it as a pan if it’s in a palette because it’s still in my collection. If it’s a single, then it’s an empty. Just how I count things.
