[Black MIDI] TAU the Song - 6.28 Million | 16-WAY Comparison (with ALL of my PCs!)

- Happy TAU Day!!! τ
For this, I decided to do something special, running tau on all PCs and Laptops that I have, and after three days of spending my time to run tau on all of them, I did it, having almost two hours of tau footage. On some of them it was difficult to do it.
Especially the Intel Celeron 420 (a pc we got in 2007), where it took almost an hour to just load the midi, and 30 minutes to play it. The graphics driver even crashed near the end, but somehow it didn't corrupt the recording or anything.
I ended up with 11 legit runs in total. Luckily Minecraftfan Redstone and ColderNess sent me some of their Tau runs too, so I could end up with a perfect squared number of 16.

Wow this is amazing!
5:11 the AMD E2-6110 stopped freezing reaching the final crash part then froze again
Not true. The PC Only has 2GB RAM
@@coder_sai2GB RAM is just barely not enough to load Tau in PFA since it only has 6.28 million notes and you can only load up to 6.25 million notes on 2GB
5:27 all of them are freezing
@@guaninaoscanoa3158 No. At 5:38 i5-12400F will escape the crash
7:35 Really? No sound after that and the video keeps going until 8:05
POV:You picked the pacifist ending and the game rewarded you a beautiful song for playing!
This is actually amazing ngl.
until the crashes which sound like a nightmare.
just wait until celeron 69420 releases with 1 hz
and then orangepaprika does a legit run with it
Celeron 69420: I fear nothing but that thing

Microsoft Interface Manager v1.9 Optimized Edition
PFA for Interface Manager - 4-bit, can load up to 1 million notes. (so technically this thing can play super moldy apple lol)
@@theotherdashmelted no, it can load depending of the size of your wasted trash files in bytes or if you are in a clean VM, you should be aware of your processor
Tau runs fine on anything over 1.5gb ram, the reason the c420 and e2 were unable to pass is due to lack of cache, which makes the CPUs perform bad on sustains (the first crash has over 10k polyphony)
thats interesting, somehow i still heard pagefile lags on the amd e2
@@orangepaprika67 i wonder if windows 10 plays a role in that, interesting

also today was my 1st time using PFA
Amazing video! I love it!
If you noticed some of the runs pianos took up less of the screen, thats because they were rendered in 800x600 or some other square-like resolution like 1280x1024
as for the Pentium silver, it was likely recorded on 1920x1200
yea the reason that the pentium n6000's run looks so weird is because i didnt put pfa in fullscreen and recorded with xbox gamebar, and if you record with xbgb on windowed it cuts off part of the piano
and the A4 and celeron 420 were recorded in something close to 450x360 and then streched out to 16:9
@@orangepaprika67 oh ok

your computer running vista with 1 gb of ram and an Intel Celeron 420 is better than my computer running Ubuntu 20.04 with 2 gb of ram and an Intel Celeron 900
it's more laggy than yours, even on the lowest resolution
probably becasue you have to use a Windows Subsystem to run PFA on a Linux system. That steals very much performance
@@minecraftfanredstone ok, I'm not an expert in Linux so I didn't know that
Now do it with kiva not pfa (kiva is a really good midi player)
PFA is better for legit run, because it’s more interesting with the lag, and a better test for your cpu.
where kiva doesn’t lag as much, therefore not something to test your pc and not as interesting
