    Man not having a manual for this is a tough one. I can’t believe they don’t have any information about it. But you take her under your wing and she’s running beautiful. You seem to know what your doing. I would say for not knowing how this is put together u got it figured out. That’s impressive 😊 I’m not a mechanic I would go with your gut feeling on this one for sure that’s the only thing you can do. But for anyone who knows about hydroelectrics take their word and apply it to what your doing. You did a great job Dave. 😀👍

    The Improvising Mechanic Dave - nice work figuring out how to make that machine operate. Thanks for sharing with us!!

    I would highly recommend a steering priority, So that for safety sake you always have directional control. For the loader functions as well as the drive I would recommend load sense pumps in series rather than a fixed displacement pump but if you want to run fixed displacement gear pumps then you would need a drive control valve a flow divider that can keep power evenly distributed between the traction motors

    You're on it dude! It has life , I know you will bring the cycle times down and crack the abrupt/uneven hydrostatic drive issues an i can't wait to see it. As always thank you for posting.

    Great work, Dave! Nice machine. For the "gas pedal", you could get some inspiration from a Toro mower. I remember driving one like 30 years ago and it had a single pedal which you could move forward and backward, hinged in the center.

    You can use an power steering pump from a car for your steering. As a separate system. I did that on my loader project and it worked great.

    You need a multi stage pump of 5-7gpm. On the suction side and return your ok as it’s low pressure. The discharge side of pump is high pressure don’t use steel fittings as their working pressure is only 150 psi.

    Case drains for drive motors are EXTREMELY important. Looks like you ran a temp line back to the tank which is good. NEVER block one off.

    Dave one of the last things you said was, "I don't think this one has enough in it". If that was also a hydraulic oil tank it is very low could that have been some of the issue? In any case really like what you're doing and keep at it i bet your close to figuring it all out.

    I would get a pump with six to eight circuits so you can do one for each of the wheels one for the Tilt and lift for the bucket and turning. Or get a bigger hydraulic pump with a distribution valve block

    I’d be interested to know the specification and flow rating for the pump you used. I have a hydraulic conversion to do and I’m not sure how to size the pump.

  • @RumbleRoverTV
    @RumbleRoverTV 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you have enough hydraulic flow. Seems when you steering evering stops. And lfting the bugged is real slow.

  • @michaelkoon8371
    @michaelkoon8371 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I think it needs more fluid in the tank for the steering maybe in both

    What's the GPM on your pump they run around 24 to 34 GPMs

  • @thomasr.miller5553
    @thomasr.miller5553 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    OK , Now we know why HIGH VOULME PUMPS ARE NECESSARY.. Yes you need a 40 to 50 GPM pump . This should work the same as a SKID STEER loader . Thanks

    a bigger pump would help on most of your issues the demand is to hi for that little pump

  • @michaelchamberlain4618
    @michaelchamberlain4618 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you have any hydraulic relief pressure from the pump just running in the engine

    It will pull better with a bigger pump. You don’t have the flow in the oil. It’s taking the path of least resistance.

  • @fsj66

    Run an automotive powersteering pump for your steering.

  • @michaelchamberlain4618

    Your bucket hydraulics can be used for steering also drive motors by themselves because they are the brakes too

    Probably had a gear box with multiple pumps and possibly variable volume (piston pumps) originally. That’s probably what failed. Kinda like a skid steer. The steering valve is called (an orbital valve). On (small) pump for steering only, don’t want to loose steering if ya blow a line any-wear. Bit of a drawback having one motor per wheel ! 1 pump = steering, 1 pump = hydraulic controls, 4 drive pumps = crazy gear box and plumbing!
    Drive pumps are variable for power (digging) and speed (transport). Don’t forget hydraulic coolers! UGH 😣
