When I was young my father would take the cooked carrots, celery and onion after making broth and he would mash them with a fork and serve it on toasted bread. Yummy!!
Made this today and it has a lovely flavour! Just a lot of water. Stuck to the measurements exactly and have a lot more broth than beans. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different than expected. Roasted some butternut squash in the oven to go along side it :)
I've been cooking beans for decades and have never made brothy beans! My beans are soaking now and making these as a side dish to artichoke caper tapenade pasta. Genius indeed, thank you!
Nice recipe and great presentation, thank you. You could also take half your stock vegetables (minus) skins, puree them and add them to the final 15 minutes of cooking.
Each time I see anyone using celery stalks in a soup or a broth I think "Noooo, please use celeriac instead!". It has so much more flavour, much deeper and sweeter than celery stalk. I hope you'll try it one day 😊 hugs! ❤
Looks really yummy! Removing the aromatics makes for a beautiful presentation. However, I feel it's a bit wasteful for an everyday meal. I would instead dice the onion, carrot and celery (classic mirepoix) and only use 2 or 3 cloves of minced garlic to get things going you don't have to remove them and you get all the nutrition.
I'm sure there are lots of ways of doing things! It'll of course be a different flavour and texture at the end depending on how you do things but your way sounds lovely also 😊
Oh no I missed the last one!! I’ll loop back to watch it. This broth looks so flavorful and there’s so many good tips for the bean cooking I haven’t tried. I’m not the best at cooking beans to the best texture so I needed this. I love small white beans. I have so many in my pantry 😅 I saw an amazing soup recipe using them so I’m glad I also have this recipe to make me use them up!
I hope you enjoyed the other video too, thank you for always tuning in Lindsay 🥰 Glad you found the tips in this video useful! I hope you find more success in your bean cooking three next time and than you enjoy this recipe when you get around to making it 😊 I also love small white beans, they are so delicate ✨️
So a suggestion if you take the stuff you're making the brother you may want to use some cheese cloth to hold the things you will want to remove to make removal easier.
Thank you for the high standard culinary content you share. Hearty food, impeccable styling and editing, as always.
Thank you so much for the kind words - we're so glad that you enjoy what we share 🥰

Pesto sounds yum and harissa is good if you like some heat.
Great suggestion! Will try some harissa in my bowl next time ✨️
