    Hi there! I wanted to thank you so much for your videos and content! I’m in Butte and gearing up for my first market in June. I’ve been growing in dirt, but thanks to you I’m going to try hydroponic growing! I’m so grateful for your links to barcodes, labels, and packaging as well- it’s all been extremely helpful

    Hey! I havent had a vacation in 3 yrs!! Microgreens are very needy.
    Here in Florida soil is outrageous! Promix is now $65 a bale. The silicone mats are enticing tho my first attempt didnt go well. I think Ill give it another chance.

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Last time I bought dirt it was $45 a bale, but is now up to $65 here too...I knew that was the biggest expense I had to cut!

    Thanx for sharing! A lot of helpful information. Have you ever tried growing fodder? Im looking into that to help feed our chickens, goats, and pigs since feed has gotten so expensive.

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No I haven't, but I give chickens the scraps after I harvest my microgreens. I feel you on the feed prices....Blowing through $ that just ends up as compost 😆

    amazing content, thank you. How do you clean those mesh medium? scrap them and wash them by hand?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I scrape them and then wash with soap. After I soak them in a bleach water solution for about 10 minutes to sanitize.

    Hi,can you tell me why u r not growing in the soil. Do we need to turn on the lights 24 hrs daily?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The process of growing hydroponically is a lot cheaper. There is nothing wrong with growing in dirt, but the cost of dirt for me was about $1 a tray. Plus, storage of it took up a lot of room. So I was spending about $80 a month on just dirt alone. Right now I use the reusable mesh and the ocean solution minerals. The ocean solution cost me around $2 a week and it's just in a gallon jug I have to store instead of large bales of dirt! I have my lights on for 18 hours a day after their blackout phase.

    Why do you use weights on top of the trays?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Weight presses the seeds down and helps with germination. Almost like the weight of dirt on a seed that promotes it to sprout. It also holds the moisture in.

      Wasabi mustard $4 per 1.5oz container
      Pea and sunflower $3.75 per 3oz container

    Hello! Thank you for your videos and giving so much helpful information. I too have been gathering bits of information on growing microgreens from multiple sources and your channel bridged a lot of gaps.
    I have a question about watering your microgreens: do you only use the hydroponic nutrients + water solution once during the growing process? Or do you use this solution every time you water your growing microgreens?

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use it every time I water my greens.

    Are you seeing Resturants cut back on placing orders for microgreens? We see places are more empty than usual here in North East. I was going to look into growing microgreens but I have concern they will be first thing resturants cut as things get tighter with this economy.

    • @woodstinyfarm
      @woodstinyfarm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure because I don't have any restaurants as my clients. It is a luxury item that people may be cutting back on.
