Imagine risking your progress and reputation in ice skating for an unlikely dream of becoming an idol (considering that even sunghoon said that if he had been eliminated, he wouldn't know what to do). Bruh stop devaluing sunghoon's sacrifice by saying he wasn't even that good at figure skating. He worked hard to show his parents and everyone that he was taking the right option, and now that effort has had its reward.
All figure skaters are taught how to fall safely to help protect themselves from serious injury. One of the most dangerous situations is the warm-up before each competition section (short or long program, free skate). This was shown in 2014 with the collision between Yuzuru Hanyu and Han Yan during their warm-up.
When he said " I want to show to my parents that I took the right path (being idol)" I feel like his heart is really more on being an idol than of ice skating. Let's debut, Sunghoonie.

@@Ndlisa He had severe amblyopia in one of his eyes (it's also called 'lazy eye'), he couldn't see well in that eye and had to go through 12 hrs of treatment for it i think, it really made him lose a lot of confidence so his mother suggested that he found a hobby to help. He mentioned in an interview that ice hockey was another option but bcs he had a smaller frame when he was younger figure skating suited him best. Hope this helps.
Listen some of y’all need to pipe down and stop taking his abilities lightly. I also follow figure skating so I was excited to see an ex-figure skating idol but some of you are really talking him down because someone says he has great abilities and that’s messed up on multiple levels. He put so many years into training and he is a good figure skater and even more amazingly, he’s also a K-Pop idol now which is really incredible. He’s worked hard in both respects and is really inspiring. Yeah we got incredible Yuzuru Hanyu and powerful Nathan Chen of figure skating, but we only have one Ice Prince K-Pop star Sunghoon.
Yeah and now yuma kagiyama a happy mushroom who won silver at world championship 2021 yesterday.. three of them got into podium... but... vincent boyang han junhwan and.... kaegann and jason TT a lot of things happen... He's a figure skater. He HAS to get up as fast as possible or he'll risk messing up the layout of his whole program. He'll also be given a deduction if he finished after his music.

tbh, because he has done it for 10 years, his muscle memories will remain, even if he cant do the hard jumps anymore, just occasional fun skates should be enough
@@avajackson2891 i'm an upper-intermediate skater so i think i'm qualified to say this. For recreational skaters , yes, for profesionals, no. If you don't train regularly, your muscles will start "loosen", what i mean is that, you will be less likely to do perfect jumps like you used to due to the lack of practice.

When I’m watching enhypen, my dad told me that sunghoon is so familiar to him. Then he asked me if he’s a figure skater, I answer “yes, back then”. He said he saw him skating once back then when he’s still working in korea, he’s amazed that sunghoon became an idol. Very talented indeed!

i-landed It wasn't part of it. Maybe if he was a show skater, but this is a competition- not landing a jump cleanly, let alone touching the ice, will lower the score. Even in show skates though I cant really imagine anyone purposefully falling on a axel, would be too scared of my ankle breaking lmao

As a fan, i can only imagine how hard it must have been for him to quit what he had been doing for 10 years and choosing to go after his heart's desire of becoming an idol. he used to sleep in cars while going to training or practice. Falling down and getting up every time, we got so much to learn from him. i am beyond happy that he debuted in iland and now is one of the most known faces in 4th gen kpop, emceeing on music bank being so successful and famous. He deserves each and every bit of this. I just wish he is always happy. You got all of us rooting for you Sunghoon, keep shining.

The first time I heard him talk on I-land about quitting figure skating to become an idol, for some reason I felt touched. He seemed so passionate and ready to fight for his dream. I really hope he debuts and I'm voting for him everyday on Weverse.
I really hope that when he debuts, he really makes it big. From his performances you can tell how much effort, time and passion he dedicated to figure skating. To think that he decided to give up a potential career in figure skating to become a trainee and an idol just shows how much passion he must have for singing and dancing too. it’s so bittersweet watching this. knowing he gave up something so precious to him for his dream. i’m so happy he’s made it, i adore him so much and even at the beginning of i-land i was drawn to him and fell in love with him watching his skating videos. i especially love watching him skate, it’s really comforting to me, but knowing he quit ice skating always makes it a bit sadder to watch these kind of videos. i remember when this barely had 100k and now there’s almost a million. always supporting hoonie.

When I’m watching enhypen, my dad told me that sunghoon is so familiar to him. Then he asked me if he’s a figure skater, I answer “yes, back then”. He said he saw him skating once back then when he’s still working in korea, he’s amazed that sunghoon became an idol. Very talented indeed!

i-landed It wasn't part of it. Maybe if he was a show skater, but this is a competition- not landing a jump cleanly, let alone touching the ice, will lower the score. Even in show skates though I cant really imagine anyone purposefully falling on a axel, would be too scared of my ankle breaking lmao

박성훈 피겨 영상을 지난번에 딱 한번 봤는데 너무 잘생기고 멋있어서 한눈에 반해버림 그래서 네이버에 쳐봤는데 아이랜드 연습생밖에 안나와서 동명 이인이네.. 했는데 딱 한번 본 아이랜드에서 피겨 했다고 나와서 보니까 진짜 그 박성훈이야ㅠㅠㅠ 그래서 내남자라고 바로 느낌

진짜 항상 생각하는 거지만, 물론 본인이 선택한 일이지만 아이돌 꿈 선택해서 너무 고마워요 계속 피겨라는 길을 걸었다면 어쩌면 더 안정적일 수 있었을텐데 포기하고 아이돌꿈 걸어줘서 진짜 고마움 그냥 왠지 고마움 엔하이픈으로 만나게 되어서 진짜 좋음 아이돌 하면서 힘든 일도 있겠지만 엔진들 생각하면서 힘냈으면 좋겠음..

As a fan, i can only imagine how hard it must have been for him to quit what he had been doing for 10 years and choosing to go after his heart's desire of becoming an idol. he used to sleep in cars while going to training or practice. Falling down and getting up every time, we got so much to learn from him. i am beyond happy that he debuted in iland and now is one of the most known faces in 4th gen kpop, emceeing on music bank being so successful and famous. He deserves each and every bit of this. I just wish he is always happy. You got all of us rooting for you Sunghoon, keep shining.

it’s so bittersweet watching this. knowing he gave up something so precious to him for his dream. i’m so happy he’s made it, i adore him so much and even at the beginning of i-land i was drawn to him and fell in love with him watching his skating videos. i especially love watching him skate, it’s really comforting to me, but knowing he quit ice skating always makes it a bit sadder to watch these kind of videos. i remember when this barely had 100k and now there’s almost a million. always supporting hoonie.
