That is one very useful steady, different bushes for different diameters, great idea👍👍 Watching you do all that hacksawing really exhausts me 🤣 Cheers, Alan.
Must be tricky to adjust the depth of cut to hit a specific diameter. Does the steady fix to the carriage on the Myford version so you can put the cut on with the cross slide?
The Myford one is fixed to the saddle using the mounting for the Myford traveling steady so cuts can be applied with the cross-slide . There is no suitable place on the Co lathe so cuts have to be set by adjustment of the cutting tool.
Interesting to see how many people there are who say these little lathes are nothing more than toys and you can't get any work done on them but really they are the same lot who lack creativity and patience to get things done with what they have. I know those people would still be crying if they got a whole CNC to do everything for them.
The lathe will machine any thing that will fit on it and all materials. I use it all the time now for small parts The higher spindle speed makes it better than my larger Myford lathe.
4:10 keeping in shape I see too! :)
I need to make one of these for my logan.

Nice! Blackening with black currant is a nice touch too.
I think it is time for you to get a power bandsaw.
You line bored it in the lathe to ensure perfect alignment then removed it and continued machining the hole on the lathe chuck 🤪

Please 🙏 show your tool for 3d print metal casting
Not sure what you are asking. Furnace? burn out oven?, printer?
Variator broken?
