I remember getting to Creamed Corn Castle before unlocking the Gwimbly Gun, it was really tough. Now that I’m older, it’s not as tough. I hope when they eventually make a Super Gwimbly remake, they keep the authentic difficulty.
It was in the concept art, but it wasn't allowed to be published unless it got changed to something more family friendly. Although you could be thinking of the reboot which, for all of the strange changes it made, did use the original Gwimbly Glock design.

Sure, '94 runs at a consistent 60 fps and has bonus stages that aren't in Mega, but to call Mega a "watered down port" is asinine. You may just be confusing Gwimbly '94 with Gwimbly CD, which came out on both CD-ROM²/TG-CD and the Sega CD, featured all the new content from Mega Gwimbly, and added the bonus stages back in. Obviously the TG-CD one was better; the Sega CD version couldn't even save progress!
Neat you included the unused water gun, i still think it was odd that gwimbly was supposed to shoot gwimble-goo™ instead of his bullets like in the arcade games.
From what I know, the Gwimble-goo Gun didn't make into the game because they weren't able to release the tie-in squirt gun at the same time. Super Soaker would later adapt it into the Oozinator.

I never played Gwimbly 64 again after beating Count Groxia before collecting all the creamed corn. I genuently thought he was gonna come out of the TV screen or something. Now I realize the endings aren't that scary but as a kid they were horrifying.
