HA-NP50T fits closer to ear so these sound better to me. I have used them for phone calls and had no complaints. Normally ask "How do I sound?" and received no complaints indoors. Outdoor conversation work as long as there is not too much audio near you like traffic if you walked around the block. They also fit on my ear much better than HA-NP35T

The way the new models are angled and the lighter weight make them sit around my ear better improving sound quality.
