Hello from Canada, I love watching your videos I always learn something. What about Poplar? It is technically a hard wood but it is very soft. Also very abundant here in Saskatchewan Canada.
Very difficult to say as I have never seen any saunas made out of Poplar (nor even seen the wood myself 😅). I would try and find someone who made a sauna out of it and ask them.
Thank you for the info! Question around pine: some report that pine can leak sap/resin onto bathers due to the high temps in the sauna. Are you aware of this being a common problem for pine-cladded saunas? I'm interested in using pine for mine as it fits in my budget. Thank you for any insight!
I'm aware and have seen that happen in many saunas I have used myself! In my opinion, it can even create a more authentic feeling and nice smell (probably because I used saunas like this when I was a kid i like that..) but yes that's something to be aware. IMO not a problem but messy and worth considering for sure.
