Thanks for creating such a great video!
Could you explain more about the tax implications for digital nomad visas in Portugal ? how much tax would I pay on $4,000 USD received from IT jobs in the USA? Note, I won't be working for any company in Portugal-this is solely for my US job income.
    Thank you!

Thank you very much for clearing many of my doubts. I still have a couple of questions, and I would appreciate it if you could answer them:
    1. Can I take my wife and minor children to Portugal with me, or will I need to invite them to join me later?
    2. If my wife accompanies me to Portugal, will she have the right to work locally there?
    3. Can I enroll my children in Portuguese schools during our entire stay?
    4. Is it true that after the initial visa of 2 years and the first extension of 3 years, I will be eligible for permanent residency after a total of 5 years?
I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer all these questions. Best regards. 🙏🏻

Thank you for watching my videos and I am glad that you have got most of your answers.
Here are the answers to your questions:
      1. Can I take my wife and minor children to Portugal with me, or will I need to invite them to join me later?
Answer: It all depends upon you. If you want to take her together with you then you must meet the minimum funds requirements with dependent .In this scenario ,the amount will increase from 3280 Euro/Month to 4096 Euro/month.
As per my experience most of the digital nomads first apply individually and later on they apply for a family reunion visa for their wife.
      2. If my wife accompanies me to Portugal, will she have the right to work locally there?
Answer: Yes she will have the right to work locally here because the Portuguese Govt will issue the same card to both of you.
      3. Can I enroll my children in Portuguese schools during our entire stay?
Answer: Yes you can enroll your children in Portuguese School after you will arrive here. Only problem i came across here is that it is little difficult to get admission in main city like Lisbon due to wait time. But if you move to small city near Lisbon ,it is very easy to get the school admission. This is what most of our Asian communities are doing here.
      4. Is it true that after the initial visa of 2 years and the first extension of 3 years, I will be eligible for permanent residency after a total of 5 years?
Answer: Yes it is true after 5 years of living here you have a choice to apply either for a Portuguese Passport directly or to apply for permanent residency .As per my experience 99% of people are directly applying for Passport.
I hope all is clear to you now but still if you have any question, you are most welcome to ask.

@@lifewithsuhail5423 Thank you so much for addressing all my questions! I really appreciate your help. I have two more questions and would be grateful if you could answer them:
1.) Is the amount of €3,280 per month linked to inflation or the minimum wage in Portugal? Specifically, can this amount be adjusted over time based on inflation or changes in the minimum wage in Portugal during my stay there?
2.) Will my earnings be re-evaluated when applying for a visa extension after 2 years and again for permanent residency after 5 years? Will the authorities reassess whether my income meets their eligibility criteria at those times? I’m concerned because there might be fluctuations in my freelancing job during my stay, such as reduced hours or periods without work.
3.) As a freelance senior web developer working through Upwork, will I need to route my earnings to a Portuguese bank account after arriving in Portugal, or can I continue to receive payments into my Indian account?
Thank you so much for your assistance with these questions. I really appreciate your help!

Answer: To be sure, we still need to wait for D8 TRC renewal. Only then we could be able to draw a solid conclusion.
3.) As a freelance senior web developer working through Upwork, will I need to route my earnings to a Portuguese bank account after arriving in Portugal, or can I continue to receive payments into my Indian account?
Answers: Not necessary but as per law yes you should route your earnings to a Portuguese bank account and pay your Taxes here.

Thankyou for your videos it helps me alot. I have a question that i work as a remotely and i want to apply with my wife d8 visa. I saw your comment that 4086 eur is the requirement. I remotely work 2 different companies in which one is paying 3729 eur and other one is paying 621.63 euro but receive on different date but every month i receive. So i am eligible to apply with my wife? Also did i show both contract letter to embassy? And this all mention in cover letter too?? And how much balance which i want to show the bank statement as i receive both salary in same account

1-Yes you are eligible with your wife, if you are earning more than that amount from your both contracts during one month time periods.Amount received on different dates is not an issue because overall per month your total earning is satisfying the requirements.
2-You must have a savings balance of at least between 8K to 10k at the time of application.
3-Yes definitely you will have to show both contract letters to the embassy along with your visa application and clearly explain it in your cover letter.

Thankyou for the video. Sir i have a question please answer to help me please.
I am working remotely since feb 2024 and my salary is in Eur 3743.97(actually i received it in aed but for your consideration i told it into eur). I want to apply with my husband this D8 visa. Is i am eligible ??.
Also my salary is credit every month but mostly i transfer into other account or some time transfer into my husband account. So minimum balance is 1491 eur. If i applyied so should i wait for 3 4 months ?? So i can not transfer or remain into same account ?? Or is it enough to show salary credit every month ??
Also which option i select in Vfs for D8 visa?? They are so many option i am confusing im between DR and ER. Which i select?? DR professional activity done remotely digital nomad and ER- Professional activity done remotely Digitally nomads.

      @mahamkhan5965
Please note that if you want to apply this visa together with your husband then Income requirements will increase to Euro 4096 per month. The amount you mentioned and earning currently entitle you to apply only as a single applicant.
In your case you will have to attach both bank statements. Your account where you are receiving amount first and the 2nd account of husband where you are transferring afterward. Please note that your one of the accounts must have a savings balance of at least between 8K to 10k at the time of application.
You must select visa type DR which is a long term residency visa and not ER. ER is a short term visa and won't take you towards citizenship.
I hope all is clear now but still if you may have any questions and concerns you are welcome to ask.
