In most of history, especially in the early days of Islam, Muslims were seen as liberators, not conquerors. That's how we can explain the diversity of beliefs and traditions that STILL EXIST today, because Muslims protected minorities better than any other system, especially the European system, which was notoriously monolithic and non-tolerant of non-Christians, UNTIL they were defeated by the NW0 after WW2, and then the new rulers of the West started to teach Europeans multiculturalism, by force, because Europeans are by second nature anti-multi.

Yeah, all these faiths like Druze and Alawite definitely keep their beliefs hidden because they feel so safe under Sunni rule.

Muslims only protected those of monotheistic religions: Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism.

@@s871-c1qDruze were suppressed from speaking out against Assad, by Assad himself. He took out their leaders, who told other Druze not to take part in Assad's war.

Muslims came to the land that was majority Christian. Not the other way around.

Many Alawites were victims of Assad too. They couldn't speak out, for the same reason other Syrians couldn't speak out.

@YoussefDaanBenAmor ok, so my comment wasn't necessarily for within this video. It was generally speaking, about the topic of the video. It's important to distinguish and not punish the wrong people, who many were also victims of Bashar family.

Not so fun fact but back in early 2012 and 2013 as well, some of the first Syrian Army defectors to join the "Free Syrian Army" , generals and high ranking commanders were Alawites.
From what I recall, Alawite commanders with their Sunni generals too defected because they saw the K1ll1ng of innocent people. Some Alawites said it was wrong for the government to detain innocent people of every sect of life in Syria as injustice. They saw that the Murd3r of Kurds was wrong too.
When it came to the Syrian Army, most of the commanders and generals were Alawites and some Sunnis.
Most of the people who did the dirty work or c@nn0n f0dd3r were sunnis.

Wtf my father is alawite and he had problems with the government same like many other Syrians, alawites live in same poverty that the rest of people in Syria and were same oppressed with the system and cenzorship, the only beneficients in the country were the baath party members and they were of various religious backround, being an alawite didnt benefit you in any way, if it would be like that my relatives would have better jobs and not live in extreme poverty. Saying alawites are criminals bc of assad and part of state agents being alawite is same saying like all sunnis would be the terrorists due to isis, nusra and other sunni extremist organisations crimes

Some says that alawite benefit the most but how can you benefit from something so broken? You open up a business but who's gonna buy it? Millions gone either buried, in prison, or in another country, the rest are too scared to live a life so they didn't thrive.
The one that benefit the most are the Assad's big family.

You are mistaken. The alawites didn’t really benefit at all. They are still poor. The main benefactors were the ones closest to him like his family and friends ans high ranking people. Basically everyone in the country was sick of him and him father and their murderous regime
