Interesting that you indirectly referenced Stoicism. Imagine a conversation between Epictetus and Master Gu, or George and Marcus Aurelius? ;)

Great points. Nasseim Harriman has started to make some amazing discoveires about the dark matter and energy, which is what they call it in main stream science. He puts it like this. It is a field that is constantly spinning and everything is 99.999999 % space that appears to be solid matter because of the spin. If you think of the field as a coffee cup and that is the field that we cannot see. When you put the cream into the coffee after stiring it, you begin to see a spinning pattern from the cream. This pattern follows the fibernacci sequence and looks rather like a galaxy and the way that this forms through spinning. He is comparing the micro and the macro levels of our existence. The maths goes beyond me, but he is claiming that he is getting very close to comprehending the universe through the maths. Amazing. I love the Tao philosophy and the way that it talks about space. And at the end of the day, does it matter what happens after we die. We are here to live the best life possible and use our brains properly so that we can experience life to its fullest, while treating everything else we exist with, with respect. Conquering the mind is a key to this and using it as a very powerful too, rather than a lousy master, will lead you to a better life. Thanks for sharing. Great video. :)

I've had these thoughts myself. To get a bit esoteric Everything ultimately comes from nothing and as we come from nothing and are a part of nothing and no part of nothing can be bigger and another so it seems logical that we are all equal to and are the great infinite creator, nothing.

I seek to be aware of all that space. I look between the trees and buildings. It is hard to see the space in a world that is about the “stuff”. But my effort to make age 50 to 75 the best years of my life has lead me to appreciate the gaps. There is power in the empty space. There is something in nothing. #50to75

When I was young and easy (under the apple boughs...), the thought of nothing, of emptiness left me scared stiff.
    That's decades ago.
Nowadays I look for space and emptiness, not just outside, but experience this more and more inside.
It is vast, boundless, eternal, timeless.
There is no need, no sense to being afraid of the void.
It always has been, it will always be, there is neither beginning nor end in it.
    Utterly beautiful.

Taoism spoke to me decades ago when I learned about it, probably because it reminded me of my mother, who seems to live the Way but never mentioned it by name. I suppose it was serendipitously fated that I would discover Taoism one day. Though the language and poetry spoke to me, I never actually tried incorporating it into my life. It wasn't until I came across your videos with Master Gu recently that I "rediscovered" the Tao for myself, and now I'm ready to live the Way.
Thank you, George, for your beautiful, thoughtful videos full of wisdom. I love the breathtaking scenery shots paired with the profound teachings and musings, plus your peppering-in of "real-life examples" of living the Tao, such as the "emptiness" cave hermit! In a few sentences you changed my entire perspective. When you spoke of the space outside of our skin being as important to living as the space within it, that just made so much sense to me. Nothingness really does connect us to every single thing. Even when my 'logical' brain tries to analyse it, and say what about the elements that make up that space, the nitrogen, oxygen and carbon that make up the atmosphere? I can only conclude that at its most micro-level, between the smallest sub-atomic particles, there is nothingness, and without that nothingness, those sub-atomic particles, and hence elements wouldn't function how they are supposed to. The insights your sharing with us are invaluable, so truly thank you

Lots of times we hear on the news that for example a native bird species is not around anymore. It might have gone extinct. But most of the times this happened because the wole ecosystem the bird species was a part from died out. It can start with plants on the bottom of a lake that dissapear. Those plants gave oxigen to algies, those algies were food for fished and the birds fed on those fishes. When the bird itself dies it's body is processed by micro-organisms on the bottom of the lake and they make the bottom of the lake fertile for plants to grow there to produce oxigen for the algies again.
We are not apart from the world we live in. In our culture we feel that way and this way of thinking has disastrous consequences. If we will keep on living with this way of mind, we might very well be that birdspecies in time...
I love your channel George! It opened my eyes to taoist philosophy and changed my way of thinking dramatically. Please, keep those video's coming! :)

What a nice video! Thank you for the effort of bringing such simple and natural ideas, but that we so often forget.

A really beautiful video (as usual)! Well done George! I've really appreciated when you talked about the space in our body that connects us to the "outside" world. If you think about the space present in us, it's amazing how much space there's in every atom. We are made of nothingness much more than something
