Only after we were almost there did I know who "Rob" actually was - and we ended up picking him up at a gay bar near LAX. So within the space of an hour or so, I got to meet and sit and talk music with Rob Halford, learn he was one of Lemmy's best friends, learn Rob was gay, and visit my first gay bar. To say I was overwhelmed by the entire experience is an understatement. They were both really great people - and not in the way I ever expected.
