12, 14 or even 16 will still have the same kind of results with potential blowouts. The Super Bowl has had many blowouts as well - it doesn’t mean the team that lost was horrible or someone else more deserving. If you want to be in the playoff you have to win games and that means almost all of them - this 3,4 loss team discussion is useless. If you lost 3 or 4 in regular season - you are not going to win 3 or 4 in a row against solid competition.
Yeah but it was teams you could of put in that would of made it a lot more competitive. Just off the caliber of players the teams have. Notre Dame was basically playing James Madison.
@@Ace-mw9pm Bama might have been more competitive, or maybe they shit the bed and put 3 points on the board. Either way, ND is most likely dusting whoever got the 10 seed.
Notre Dame’s offense is 90% just runs and screens. Their QB can’t consistently throw the ball downfield, they don’t have any elite WRs/TEs that scare you. UGA will be the best at OL, RB,TE, DL,LB and DB that ND has seen all year.
Now that it’s said and done, which team had a better season: this year’s IU team, who won 11 games to make the playoff but whose best win was over a meh UMich team and who lost their final game, or the 2021 MSU team, who won 11 games and whose best win was over the B1G Champ* UMich team and who won their final game (without their best player and the retrospective de facto Heisman winner) against the ACC champ (and who would have made the playoff if the 12-team format was alive then)?
So Tom thinks Freeman (1-1 in CFP playoffs with this win) is going to take down Kirby (5-1 whose only CFP loss was to Bama, in OT in the 2017 Natty)..??? I’ll take Georgia and the points! Twice this year Georgia was the underdog and twice they won…nuff said.

what a savvy comparison! Since we can’t compare cupcakes like Bama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas (twice); or that powerhouse Northern Illinois. Your comparison is the best assessment. 🙄

It's not about power ratings with Indiana, it's the fact they played 0 power 4 non con opponents and they beat 1 team with a winning record. They shouldn't be rewarded for playing a weak schedule. Boise too
They can’t change their conference schedule. It’s set 3-4 years in advance. The non con was of course a cupcake but 98% of schools have cupcake non cons. Indiana had a favorable schedule. It’s not their fault 2 8 win teams regressed as did the 2 teams in the national championship game the year prior. By all metrics they were a top 10 team. FPI, SOR, GC all of that. They did what they had to do to be invited and they deserved it. End of discussion
As those of us from the big ten have said, IUs SOS was awful. The big ten as a conference is very weak outside of Oregon and OSU. This isn't what a playoff game should have looked like. Very disappointing on the entertainment side of things. And if Cig is going to talk ish, he's gotta learn to eat it when he loses. They played two hard games all year, and got handled in both of them.
You don’t remember all the blowout, uninteresting games from the 4 team playoff? It’s gonna happen every year no matter how many teams are in it. Doesn’t make anyone any less deserving
@mattcollett9370 you answered the issue right there, deserving. I don't want to watch deserving. I want to watch the best. If the scores are going to be like this, just go full send 24 teams. The best will for sure come out on top, and we can stop the "deserving" discussion.
Never seen someone repeat a claim about a defense getting handsy with receiver's as much as this guy on the right. Seriously.....close coverage is not handsy! Even the PI against jordan Clark was clearly not PI. Stop complaining about refs
Either these teams are just bad or last year was the final year of the 15-0 juggernaut programs. NIL and unlimited, immediate transfer portal has made everyone mid. Now after Georgia completely suffocates that stale ND offense it will all make since.
You should specify years as 2022. Of course knows who your talking about, but its annoying that TCU gets characterized as garbage forever because of that game. In all reality 2022 Georgia is arguably the best team in program history - certainly top 2. By comparison 2022 TCU isnt even top 5 in the last 20 years. In many ways it feels like 2022 TCU got favored for the playoffs because of how often they got shafted in previous post season.
But we were told the 12 team playoff will get rid of blowouts. The point is every year there are really only 2-3 teams who actually have a real chance to win a natty
I love that Georgia is getting this disrespect. A team that beat Texas twice and won the SEC after playing the toughest schedule in the country vs a team that lost to Northern Illinois and the best win they have is debatably Indiana. Keep that yummy rat poison coming.
