I’ve been trying to figure out why the 15 plus display feels so smooth and I think you’re on to something with them using the pros’ displays and just software-locking the frame rate. The display in every other aspect aside from 60hz is super premium and “feels” like it’s faster than it is.
The fact I've done research and the regular iPhone 15 was neck to neck with the 14 pro max means don't even think about last year's model. Apple is clever for that.

I compared my parents’ new iPhone 15’s to my 14 Pro and the camera quality of the 15’s was BETTER. I guess the new software and new sensor in the 15’s helped. Now, that’s mainly the 1x-2x’s lens on the 15. When you zoom in 10x’s the Pro was a bit cleaner. But not by much! Still bums me out that the regular 15’s takes better photos though…Also, the aluminum build and the new design was SO comfortable to hold!
Finally a comparison that I needed. Been torn between the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 Pro Max since the massive price drop after the launch of 15 Series (they are currently on the same price range in my country). I’m watching different reviews and asking ppl which is better, all are unanimous that the Pro models are definitely the best choice. Now I just got the 14 Pro Max in 256gb gold, personally it kinda looks like mixed White and Natural Titanium of the 15 Pros, and it’s really a bang for the buck. :)

@@ahmedbahaa3892 It’s been almost 2 months since I bought the 14PM, I always use it nonstop (watching videos, socmeds, games etc.), also updated to the current ios, but the max. capacity is still 100%! And I usually charge my phone every other day lah. Ps. I have a friend who uses 15PM and I see no diff with my 14PM, just the 5x zoom and the titaniums, mine also doesn’t get too hot like his 15s.

Long term you’re gonna love the 15 Plus. Trust me. I had the 14 Pro Max as a daily and 15 despite its drawback on 120Hz. Everything else about the phone is more refined.
I get a new iPhone every year with a leasing program. Currently on the 14 pro max. So I’m deciding do I go 15 pro max and pay the new inflated price. Or do I technically downgrade to 15plus to save some money but get similar performance from last year?
Plus battery ain’t a joke heavy use got 17 hours, now I’ve changed it to 5G auto and allowed more data so should get 12 hours, from the original standard mode
For main wide camera, 15 series should be better out of the gate with advantage of new algorithms and 24MP default output. 14 Pro series will surpass it when using full 48MP ProRAW and fine tune it later in post-processing without losing quality. I doubt the ultra-wide is the same sensor between the Pro and Regular one. 14 Pro series, just like any recent Pro series iPhone has lower aperture of f/2.2 instead of f/2.4 and comes with PDAF autofocus. I was using regular 14 for few months before upgraded to 14 Pro and the ultra-wide is night and day difference. The 14 ultra-wide camera is too noisy and perform much worse in low-light with more noticeable softness around the edges. The details are noticeably inferior compared to 14 Pro. The baseline 15 has the same exact aperture and no auto focus just like other regular iPhone since iPhone 11. For a rather expensive price tag, it’s such a shame Apple did not even care to upgrade the hardware for ultra-wide camera on these iPhone baseline models but instead keep pushing for computational photography to make up for it. I’m not sure if 15 series has improvement when it comes to computational photography, but the computational photography in daylight is too much and over the top for 14 series. Over sharpening everywhere making the photo look edgy and dark. That’s the main reason i ditch the 14 and get the 14 Pro instead to enjoy ProRAW and remove all the “photonic” or whatever they are calling it.
I just upgraded from the 14 Pro Max to the 15 promax not expecting much, and There is a noticeable and significant performance difference, especially in Gaming. It just feels so smooth, and my apps aren’t closing in the background as much
Today I recently just switched from the 11 to iPhone 15 plus wanting the 14 pro but I’m glad I got this. The audio quality is great and the screen tone is amazing. I also love camera quality does way better when recording and shaking a lot it smoothes it out. Can’t wait to try out the games featured like assassin creed 2.
Sorry but, only the pro models will have games like that. You wont be able to play the games featured. the base models have last years A16 bionic, not the new A17 pro.

Updating from a XS MAX… I feel like I need a bigger phone as I’m used to the size?👀 I already own a ton of lightning devices… AirPods Pro and iPad with some other accessories…. So…. I don’t really feel like shifting to USB C all of a sudden … (though 15 Plus is quite lucrative). Still is 14 Pro Max (brand new) a good choice? If you have checked videos the 14 pro max at 100% battery health gets you 10 hours screen time and the tests are for very heavy use so you could be able to use it for even longer it has amazing battery life

Fair comment about the usb c cable , one cable for us all. However after a decade of investment into lightning port most in the iOS have the light night cable. Just something to consider
If you can afford it, go for the 15 Pro Max. But if you don't find yourself needing a "Pro" device with 120Hz/1TB storage, triple cameras, and the latest processor, you'll be fine. But if you want the best of the best and quite frankly a phone that'll go the distance 5 years from now, the 15 Pro Max should be your next phone.

I have an ipad pro M2 and i don’t really find a difference between 120 hz and 60 hz on iphone 15 plus. I guess it all comes down to personal preferences. I got the 15 plus because it has a better battery and lightweight. My dad’s got the 14 pro max and honestly I really can’t find much of a difference between these two. If you want that 3 camera set up I’d say go for 14 pro max.
And I personally can't go back to 60Hz. The difference is not just subtle. The difference is tangible when you scroll during websurfing, images, flicking through the menu, and such.
Interesting theory about the displays. However Ross Young has noted the regular 15 displays are not LTPO, therefore they cannot be the same display with a software lock. They are different on a hardware level it seems

Battery is garbage. I own one along side my 15 plus. I am returning the pro. I get 10+ heavy use hours out of 15 plus and only 4-5 hours on pro heavy use. With the overheating fix I got closer to 6

@@santiagocarrasco3772 hello if you are planning to buy 14 pro rather than the 14 pro max please don't, the battery is very bad and it drains within 7 hours of light use. Which is why I do not recommend any pros ever unless it's the pro max since 120hz with small batteries will drain your battery faster. I recommend the 15 plus if you are not a fan of the pro features. It has the best battery out of all the iphones to date and surpassing the 15 pro max. It might be because of its 60hz and its processor but it still concludes that 15 plus is a good phone.
Hey what you you mean the pro camera? Like the third camera for extra zoom? Or am I missing something. Because I have a 14 pro max and couldn’t tell you if I’m ever using the full potential of the camera.

I had the 12 pro max and skipped the 13 pro max. My 12 pro max battery was way better than my current 14 pro max. It's not horrible but it is something I noticed and missed. And not to mention my battery life health is at 90% after only a year. I never had that much decrease after a year.
I don't know a single person with 14 Pro Max who dropped below 90% battery in less than a year. You must have let the phone get really hot. Mine is still at 98% over a year later.@@HeyMarkL
I was asking people and someone said the 15 heats up too much and they suggested the 14 pro. Also, keep in mind you can't charge the 15 with the lightning charger, you have to use a usb charger.

personally as a 14 pro max user. Get the 14 pro max unless u want to future proof yourself for USBC which I don’t rly care abt a lot but up to you. The always on display, 120hz, camera features are what win it for me and if you’ve used a 60hz phone youll feel the difference cause i did when i upgraded from my 11 so idk how ppl say they don’t feel it 🤷♂️

Not by much and the 15 process photos slightly better and focuses much closer without macro capabilities which in my opinion is better for everyday use.

15 and 15 Plus in fact do not have the same displays as the 15 Pros or 14 Pros, they wouldn’t just software lock it , that would be a waste of money, they have LPTS displays compared to the Pros LTPO which goes 1-120 hz
Yeah, no for sure. I know they don't have the *same exact* panels. BUT, the fact that I didn't find the difference in 60Hz vs 120Hz was kind of crazy. I'm able to tell most 60Hz/90Hz/120Hz+ panels apart, but for whatever reason the 15 and 15 Plus's display looks amazing.

I came from an iphone 13 pro and I thought a lot about this decision. But I don't feel any difference, when I used my iphone 13 pro with 60hz after turning on the battery save mode, I noticed it immediately the 60hz. Soooo weird.

@@santiagocarrasco3772 hello if you are planning to buy 14 pro rather than the 14 pro max please don't, the battery is very bad and it drains within 7 hours of light use. Which is why I do not recommend any pros ever unless it's the pro max since 120hz with small batteries will drain your battery faster. I recommend the 15 plus if you are not a fan of the pro features. It has the best battery out of all the iphones to date and surpassing the 15 pro max. It might be because of its 60hz and its processor but it still concludes that 15 plus is a good phone.

is the 14 pro max still on the market tho?? I don't see the phone on the apple website anymore. If it's not on the market, I might have to look into switching to the 15 plus phone from my 12 pro max.
You can still find em on Amazon and maybe in stores at Best Buy or find one used.

As a Power User i went for 15 Plus. The battery is 🔥💯 my first time using an Iphone without having to charge twice or thrice per day. 98% from 8am , next morning 9am still have 20+%.

Dropped to 89% battery health less than a year was crazy. It was truly the worst experience I’ve had and friends had something similar.
I had the 12 pro max and skipped the 13 pro max. My 12 pro max battery was way better than my current 14 pro max. It's not horrible but it is something I noticed and missed. And not to mention my battery life health is at 90% after only a year. I never had that much decrease after a year.
I don't know a single person with 14 Pro Max who dropped below 90% battery in less than a year. You must have let the phone get really hot. Mine is still at 98% over a year later.@@HeyMarkL

I was asking people and someone said the 15 heats up too much and they suggested the 14 pro. Also, keep in mind you can't charge the 15 with the lightning charger, you have to use a usb charger.

personally as a 14 pro max user. Get the 14 pro max unless u want to future proof yourself for USBC which I don’t rly care abt a lot but up to you. The always on display, 120hz, camera features are what win it for me and if you’ve used a 60hz phone youll feel the difference cause i did when i upgraded from my 11 so idk how ppl say they don’t feel it 🤷♂️

Avoid it!! Go through Apple Store or electronic retail stores.
The pros have larger sensors. That’s a huge difference.
Not by much and the 15 process photos slightly better and focuses much closer without macro capabilities which in my opinion is better for everyday use.

15 and 15 Plus in fact do not have the same displays as the 15 Pros or 14 Pros, they wouldn’t just software lock it , that would be a waste of money, they have LPTS displays compared to the Pros LTPO which goes 1-120 hz
Yeah, no for sure. I know they don't have the *same exact* panels. BUT, the fact that I didn't find the difference in 60Hz vs 120Hz was kind of crazy. I'm able to tell most 60Hz/90Hz/120Hz+ panels apart, but for whatever reason the 15 and 15 Plus's display looks amazing.

I came from an iphone 13 pro and I thought a lot about this decision. But I don't feel any difference, when I used my iphone 13 pro with 60hz after turning on the battery save mode, I noticed it immediately the 60hz. Soooo weird.
