One thing to consider those lumbar bladders are old. If it worked they would leak most likely and stress the pump. Best to disable the lumbar option for the seats. In my cl500 I even turned off the rear headrests just to protect the pse pump for central locking only. That's the most important feature.

@@CL500MBZ thanks for that, I will be probably taking apart the PSE pump and having a look at the solenoids inside on an up-and-coming video

Well at least you tried I was working on the pump on Sunday took the pump apart the valve for the seats is different to the others . its more like a solenoid I took photos but can't add them I believe that valve is more like a switch it controls how much air the pump makes especially for the soft close. Think when you flick the control on the seat it lets air through to inflate and deflate.

Disappointed you didn’t get to the source of this problem as I have the very same one,I have been into the pump as far as getting it out of its space in the boot but not disconnected any connections, the red power light on the seat switch will come on but no amount of fiddling with the switch has any effect,I’m not complaining everything else works (hope I don’t jinx myself) it’s one hell of a automobile and as you say it’s a first world problem, good vid I watch them all cheers

    Great video and info!
I am sorting out these same issues on a 2004 SL55 I just picked up. My seats do not inflate and the soft close for the trunk does not work. I can pull a fuse behind the passenger seat (drivers in yours) and the soft close will work for a few cycles so pretty sure it is a leak in the mechanism and not the pump so I will pull the mechanism and epoxy it up.
I saw this video on the seats that said there is a common area where airlines fracture under the seats. They said to just be sure to unhook the batteries before you unplug the seats to avoid an airbag error that requires a code reader to reset. I am going to pull my seats once winter gets here and see if that is the issue on mine.
I also thought I read somewhere that the pump senses the leak and will shut down air to that function. Hence why pulling the fuse allows the soft close to function a few times before the system detects an issue and shuts air down to it. Not sure if this is accurate but thought I did read it somewhere.

Does the code reader you show in this video perform advanced functions like resetting that code and rodeo mode? Looking to buy a reader but so confused on which one to get.

Yes I am let to believe that the PDU shuts down the port when there has been a leak. I must open it up and have a look.

DO NOT DO WHAT THAT MASERATI GUY DID. Just got done with the process and there was no leak!
Those stupid tubes are like veins throughout the entire car. Start at the pump and blow smoke through it to find the leak before you start removing seats and cutting underneath.

Best way to clean those pins is to use those brushes use for cleaning your teeth if you've got gappy teeth just get the widest ones and use some acetone on it.
Is that launch better than the 129? how much?
