  • Great surf mission out of town surfing in New Zealand, part 2. Wasnt suppose to be much swell this day but lucked into some nice little swell on two awesome right hand point breaks, here on the East Coast.
Riley got a new O'niell wetsuit thanks to the guys at Coastal Sport.

I remember the crowd on shore laughing guys try and run up the steep bank and getting dragged back into the shore break.

I think it was always my favorite place to surf. Very unique.
Lots of push behind it, long square wall sections, in the summer
it's like surfing a dream late afternoon, 1972 first time. you got me reminiscing again.

Wow! Great big open faces to carve turns on, and these guys rip! Makes my POV channel look pretty tame by comparison, how cold is the water? Subscribed!

Thats about as good as it gets at 'K-bay'. I haven't surfed there for 25 years (live in Oz). The washing machine on the shorey can be a nightmare hahah

Water temperature? .... about 14 degrees C by the looks of it ... yes, my lower back is aching just thinking about it ... but hey it looks nice, if a bit sectioning on some.

thats the coldest wave I've surfed and I'm from Dunedin. the river is snow melt from the seaward Kiakoria"s.

Yeah thanks for the info - the number '9' put me off a bit - but I was wondering how that could be possible. ... so melting glaciers, melting snow ... lovely stuff for real surfers I guess but I'll stay with 15 degrees NSW south coast winter for my lower limit.
