Thank you, so much. If you want to access Ableton's stock click audio sounds on a PC, here is the file path: This PC/Windows (C:)/ProgramData/Ableton/Live 9 Standard/Resources/Misc/Metronome/Samples.
Thanks, Philip. I had an issue where I needed to toggle on/off the metronome for certain songs, but your procedure solved my problem. Blessings my friend, and keep the videos coming!
I'm sure you figured this out by now but I had the same question and this works from the ableton manual: "Scene names can be both descriptive and functional; if Live detects a viable tempo and/or time signature as part of a scene name, the project will automatically adjust to these parameters when the scene is launched. To assign a tempo to a scene, select the scene and rename it with a viable tempo (e.g., “96 BPM“). Any tempo can be used, as long as it is within the range allowed by Live’s Tempo control (20-999 BPM). To assign a time signature to a scene, rename the scene with a meter in the form of “x/y“ (e.g., “4/4“). Any time signature can be used, provided it has a numerator between 1 and 99 and a denominator with a beat value of 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16. Tempo and time signature changes can coexist within a single scene name, and can appear in any position as long as they are separated from each other by at least one character. For example, “2/4+108 BPM“, “72 BPM;7/8“ and “60 BPM Chorus 3/4“ are all scene names that will cause simultaneous meter and tempo changes." Dont forget to change the time signature like he shows in the actual clip as well.
This is a great video! However I am still confused: I created the click track per your video but everytime I click play on the Master, the count in doesn't play BEFORE the rest of the track. How do I line it up so count in comes before ?
you need to make all your tracks start at -2 or-1 (depending how long is your count-in), including your count-in track. So 2 first mesures is your count-in and measure 1 starts the audio.
Hi, did you resolve the count in issue, I’m trying to add click 1234 before music start but only solution is to warp everything and align in mesure 2 all tracks, but takes me lot of time, I want to just drag the audios and add the count in , how can I proceed . Thanks
Nice tutorial; I have been looking for this on how to do it in Studio One Pro 4 and have yet to find it; I struggle big time to put a 2 bars before the audio file starts; part of the problem is I use mp3 files drumless, so I can record along it with my 16 ch live drums inputs, mix and make a cover; I have not been able to dominate the technique quite well yet but here it seems pretty simple. I lost a god friend of mine to covid19 over a year ago; he was always suggesting me ableton; but there are lots of folks swear by studio one pro; for me to upgrade from my version to current version is $149.00 vs the whooping $750.00 for ableton suit. Good thing is they let one use it free for 90 days full features, which brought me to inquire how to use the click track, which brought me to your channel and this tutorial; I really wish i could find the way for studio one pro and I am sure there is one, it is just I am not an engineer and DAWs in general are not beginners friendly. I do not know how to work with the grid very well just the basic, yet with studio one pro version 3.5 when I started my projects I managed to complete about 40 cover songs then stopped for couple years and looking now to go back to do some more...new projects, maybe new DAW? Your thoughts??
Loved the video. However, you did not include "how" to actually add the click notes into the midi roll, so it really did nothing. I did get some free cues, but don't have any idea how to use them. If you could show us the step between pulling the roll up and then placing the notes in there, this would have been a great help.
When I try the section at 3:09 of adding the extra clicks it pans the click to left and right. It puts the 1/8 note beat into a different track. How can I fix that?
how do you actually set the tempo? I have done everything else as far as I can tell. Also, does it create an actually audio stem that I can apply to other multitracks, or is it just a loop option. I want to be able to export it with audio files.
Thanks I downloaded tracks from karaoke version and each track has a 4 click intro. I didn't know how to do this when I was downloading tracks, now I have hundreds that I bought. 2 questions I need to get rid of the 4 click intro on all tracks except the click, about 800 total tracks ( I have downloaded a song length click track that comes with each song) but there has to be 1 bar of silence where the intro was on each track so they will stay in sync with the click track that came with each song, that has the intro click. not to long or short, or I could edit the intro off the song length click track as well and all tracks would just start playing music from beat 1. 1. What is the best way to do get rid of the 1 bar intro on each track? I do not want to redownload 800 tracks. Should I edit out intro in arrangement view on all the tracks then save and export all tracks? I could do a volume envelope on intro for all 500 tracks but I think that would be way to much for Live to handle 500 tracks in a session Plus 500 track volume edits. 2. How do you get the song tracks to start playing "after" the count in is through? in session view all the tracks start at once in a scene. I will have 1 song per scene and 100 songs about 500 tracks. click bass drums guitar keys track for each song. I suppose I could use ClyphX clip actions but thought there may be a better way. Thanks
Hello, Can't seem to get the guide samples. If anyone can help me please, I'd be great. It seems it is no longer available with that link. Does anyone know where i can find some good guide samples for free?
I find this process too cumbersome, just manually add 2 tracks (click, . uide) and shift all your audio a few measures in arrangement view and have your click/guide start where you need it to start
And again.. can Anyone actually CREATE a click/count in, rather than add in a paid (yes, your Multitracks count-in is PAID) preset??? You even know exactly what you did, because your title says CREATE and your opening sentence says "...how to add a click track and..." If your title says CREATE, you need to CREATE. If not, change the title.
Thank you, so much. If you want to access Ableton's stock click audio sounds on a PC, here is the file path: This PC/Windows (C:)/ProgramData/Ableton/Live 9 Standard/Resources/Misc/Metronome/Samples.
Best tutorial of any subject I've seen on TH-cam. You rock!
THANK YOU! I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to do this for so long. It’s been right in front of my face the whole time.
heey thanks for the video a quick question how do you save them separately for later use
Thanks, Philip. I had an issue where I needed to toggle on/off the metronome for certain songs, but your procedure solved my problem. Blessings my friend, and keep the videos coming!
echoing what others have said, this was very helpful. Thanks Phillip! You saved me hours of cursing while figuring this out.
+Dave Perek I'm so glad you find it helpful!!!
how would I get the count in to start before the other backing tracks start playing?
So clean! Thank you so much!
Hello ! Amazing job ! Just a question, how do you change tempo in drum racks , Thanks .

Thank you Philip for this video, I would like to know how to download the multitrack and where to put it please
Thank you so much is very helpful
Thanks! That was a handy one!
Beautiful!
Thanks Phillip,
Super helpful videos. You have saved me a tonne of time trying to figure all this stuff out.
Much appreciated 😊
Hello very helpful video! I have a question, im a novice in ableton btw so, Can I export everything as an mp3 file so I can listen it on a smartphone?
I didn't see a link to the count in sounds. Could you provide this?
Why does it have to so ridiculously difficult? I should be able to just turn a click on. The menu should just be there, count in, click on.
This was super helpful. Thanks!

how do you preload the songs onto the master track?

wait why isn't this just standard in live? i don't get it

Does this method work for adding guide cues throughout the song?
Hello. i created a loop of the click. How can it be stopped automatically when the related audio track is over???
Do you discovered how?
When I try the section at 3:09 of adding the extra clicks it pans the click to left and right. It puts the 1/8 note beat into a different track. How can I fix that?

Brilliant!!
What is the name of the free pack?

Nice job Mr. Ellis
THANKS! I hope it's helpful!
Excelent!
What if your song changes tempo, how you can program your click track to know when to change from 120 bpm to 160 bpm for example?
Thank you!
How do you stop the click after so many bars?
Hi mate, do i need ableton standard or is ableton live intro enough to create click tracks with count in?
I'm having issues syncing it up with the built in metronome. When I use the tap feature the song jumps around.
Hello, Can't seem to get the guide samples. If anyone can help me please, I'd be great. It seems it is no longer available with that link. Does anyone know where i can find some good guide samples for free?
They are in that link: www.multitracks.com/free/
you will see a downloads section below with click and guide samples
@@emmanuelbentahar3202 Thank you so much! That was very helpful! May God Bless you.
Thanks
I can't get the multitracks download... any help?
me neither
Total noob here.. how is this different than using the Ableton metronome?
How do I get a two bar count into PRIME? Are you familiar with PRIME?
I don't know much about Prime, but I bet the Loop Community guys would help out!
This is way too quick for me, I can't keep up and it's assuming a pre-existing familiarity with the platform
I find this process too cumbersome, just manually add 2 tracks (click, . uide) and shift all your audio a few measures in arrangement view and have your click/guide start where you need it to start
