Hey so sorry on the black eye well at least you are find making video we like that nice animals too bad on the caribou well he was ok so ..keep them videos coming tight chains from northwestern MI
Great job on the caribou release, that always gets the adrenaline pumping. I am the one who commented on FB about the wolf possibly being a blue phase. Safe travels out there!!
Thank you. And thank you for the work you are doing with the kids in your community.. education of the youth is the only thing that is going to let trapping survive..
Always interesting when you have to release a critter. I have had pretty good luck with a 750lb S hook break away on a snare last year on a moose. Beautiful country you trap in, wolves have been gone 12 days now on my line. I tried baiting wolves down here for two years without much success, now I just blind set and pee post. You got one anyway, and the moose and caribou thank you.
The bait I use is scraps of caribou that I gather from other hunters that hunt the area. So the Bait is always what they are hunting any way.. I ran a experiment with a bovine carcass and nothing will even touch it but the birds. Also this wolf came off a wolf kill that we found two videos back.
@@outdoorsalaska I was using road kill deer mostly and they never touched it. Maybe the road slime, I don't know. A successful trapper friend got me into blind setting mostly as he feels they are not as wary with that set up and gets bigger wolves. I only got one so far so I am no expert. Natural kills are good too.
We covered this in a previous video but I run a 2020 expedition sport with a 900 four stroke. And tuck runs a 2022 expiration le with a 900 turbo. The le is a wide track. Both are 154s and 1.8" tracks
In alaska there is actually no time restrictions on checking traps. We actually check ours every 3 to 5 days. On my small line it's checked every day. As it starts at the house.
Nice country, lots of snow, nice looking wolf. Look forward to the next adventure.

Always nice to have a wolf waiting for you.

Thank you. That wolf sold before I skinned it because of that question..
@@outdoorsalaska That is awesome! Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching your videos.
I think that was your best trapping video yet. Great footage and explanation

My favorite set for wolves is a blind foot hold set on the trail. It produces the most for me.

The antis will LOVE this.. They will make you famous...
I was just wondering if you had a cabin on your line what is the size of your line …my line is about 350 square miles an 3cabins
No cabin. And the line is 32 miles
Great work. I have the same action packer in my sled. 👍
I am so surprised that so many trappers don't wear the fur they are selling
What snowmobiles do you and your partner use , engines, track .

U don't need a bucket if you run out. Pack snow make a hole put 330 in front cover with bunch boughs hook trap 2 drag
What's that annoying beep sound about every minute or so? Anyone else hear that sound like I do?
How good is the fur on the wolf
After brushing her out it's good
