I completely agree with you! I am 56 years old and start my day with Michael Singer. I just recently discovered him 2 months ago. Last night, I was reflecting on how listening to him has helped me especially with my relationship with my family. I wish I would have discovered him when I was in my 20’s. I probably would have made better decisions for myself? This is something that should be offered to students of all ages.

I know! Haha, I am looking myself! However if you think about it. He’s said enough and all we need to do is meditate on his already said wisdom. Disconnect from the ego every chance that you can. Stop wanting anything and just know that all has been given to you. There’s peace there. Love you

I am relating. I do have a question about getting centered and what is or what not effective to get and stay there.
Say I feel myself getting worked up and I see it and see myself seeing it. Would it be a distraction if I directed my thoughts in the direction of things that are easy and joy provoking? My dog is very easy to think about and get high just picturing her little sweet face. Am I not dealing with the stuff that triggered me when I do this? Would this be in the same neighborhood as letting go and relaxing or am I distracting?

I would say yes! The joy that you feel when you’re giving the right attention to those things that bring you joy. My understanding is that we should find our joy in the giving. When you see your dogs face and it brings you joy, you’re giving your pet the attention that brings joy to the both of you.
Mickey has talked about be benefits of the acts of giving other than receiving that brings forth fruit. You experience joy with your dog’s reaction to you because you’re expressing a gift of yourself to your pet. How does he react when you give him the right attention? I believe our answer is in there “somewheres” as Micky would say😝
Our pets are such a great source of information into our spirituality if we “give” it the attention that we deserve. Being conscious of the actions is the practice that he talks about. It takes practice. Be patient. It will come. I am in the same quest.

@mrshortcut6265 Thank you. It seems all I really have to say these days. I am just recently hearing about Mr. Singleton and listening to everything he is sharing. I listen a lot. Gratitude is a place I enjoy residing and I don't even have words to convey my appreciation to God and everyone sharing this experience.
Also, when he speaks of the state of acceptance where you feel it coming from behind and to fall back with it to go deeper into yourself, when I do this I still have thoughts but I am thinking of the big fat miracle that it all even is and I just run with how big and vast and crazy wonderful that there is a creator of all this and the smaller I am to all of it the better because it just makes it that much more humongous. The smaller I am the bigger it is and that blows my mind! So I think that I am leaning back into the state of acceptance and I think this is what he is referring to but I am not sure. Maybe I am totally off though and he is talking about leaning back into a space of no thought. Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you

@@shannongillespie1440You will have no thoughts racing once all your stuff has been processed i.e. let go off. So for now just let it be, no resistance, observe it with a bit of humor and compassion with no judgement. Once it is all gone, you will relax, flow, observe, accept all things equally without judgement. No wants or desires, just bliss and continous wonderful creation.
But all that can only happen beyond ego. You need to let go of ego identification. It is a fake, it is not you, it is a completely separate paranoid android that you bought into to protect yourself as a child.

This is a nice perspective, but grief of lost loved one's forces us to grow old, loss of those that loved you from the time you're born, gone, lost of a spouse child friends etc. and hence why people try to fill the hole(s) in them with junk, IMHO ... what does he say about grief? ... which video?

The story about being depressed over a breakup but suddenly fine if she wants to get back together is absolute nonsense.
She was abusive, I was codependent, I broke up with her, I was severely depressed for weeks.
There's a bright side, but it doesn't involve returning to a toxic relationship.
I've tried to listen to this Singer guy a few times but he just loses me. Bangs on incessantly and all over the place without any coherence or space to allow ideas to permeate etc.
Trivialising problems by comparing earth to the wider universe is insulting and degrading to both human beings and our home planet.
The earth may be relatively small in physical space, but this has nothing at all to do with value and significance.

@@davidharrison2099 the analogy is appalling to the point where I can't take anything seriously.
Context and perspective is well and good, but in the given example, a man's entire sense of well being is derived from some external, unreliable floozy.
To have us imagine that we are such a weak and pathetic man is highly insulting to our intelligence, which obscures whatever positive teaching is being pushed.

What if amidst all the 'billions and billions' this callously disregarded 'piece of dirt' is the only one with sentient life? That would help to clarify the indifference of the 'billions and billions' and render this humble planet to be a little more than just a callously disregarded 'piece of dirt'. An assertion that helps to clarify the not-so-illumined mind of the speaker.

Consciousness of the activity of life. Oneness. Did Earth create us? What created it? What created that which created the creator? Do atoms argue about the cell they're in? Do cells argue about the organs? Organs about the body? I know, let's disagree and separate ourselves over it! Our false sense of responsibility must be relinquished. Let God fulfill Its destiny as individual being. Relax and permit this to flow. Witness God fulfilling Itself as our destiny by standing aside and permit it to do so. Any interference in the chain of life itself has subjugated it to the laws of matter - merely an intellectual acceptance which is not effective in our experience.

I read and read and read "A Course in Miracles" when I was in my early 20's in the early nineties. I was able to understand some of it, I found it to be the most beautiful text in the whole world. I did not do the workbook and it was an integral part of the Course.
I have been listening and listening and absorbing everything you have been saying saying ( thank you for sharing thank you thank you thank you).
It feels all kinds of good when I contemplate how much more I would be able to understand and appreciate the Course if I read it again and worked the workbook as it was made to be worked. I am getting very smiley inside about it all because it is the best news I ever heard in my whole life.
If the creator is able to know itself as a result of our experiences here then by golly My mission is to show it a real good time. The hostess with the most-ess. All I want to do is reflect the Love that I am feeling, how grateful I am to have even been thought of in the first place.
The Course states that the idea never leaves its source.
The only "problem" going on for me in this moment is containing my bliss and keeping it at a level that keeps me out of the nut house. Which is a challenge because I would go gladly and still be a giddy mess.
It's all so good and we are all so very blessed to have been thought of and then manifested! The idea never leaves its source.
