that's true. I had a kitty at home and my baby nephew. Although my kitty would scratch us around (playfully) when It comes to the baby It would just play around gently.
I love how calm and gentle some cats can be when around babies. It's adorable!

I am convinced those cats understand what they're dealing with. Especially the last one. Imma go find my kitty and pet it now.
Of course they understand, the scent is the most powerful source of knowledge for our pets. They can sense literally every emotion we can feel, even those we don't even know we're feeling.

Many years ago, when I was still living at home, a family friend gave my mum her cat, as she was going abroad for a few months, and couldn't abide the thought of placing him in a cattery for that length of time.
Alfie was a mixed breed, although, because of his size, coat, and head shape, must have had some Persian in him. He could be grumpy at times, but mostly he was a typical housecat.
I mention this because at the same time, my younger sister was also living with us. She has serious disabilities; she can't speak, can just about walk, and other muscle problems, so now, for various reasons, she is in a care home.
Anyway, one evening, my mum, my sister, and I, were all watching t.v. together, with Alfie laying between us. My sister reached out with one hand, and placed it on Alfie. My mum told her to be gentle, but although she was somewhat rough with him, he didn't move, aside from a occasional little flick of the tip of his tail ...
It was if he knew that she was totally harmless, and was always very patient when she was near him ... I can't explain how, or why, but alot of cats instinctively know when they are around babies, and people like my sister, and react in a very passive, patient, way ... remarkable, really...
Both were understanding.

People are telling you all the time, but dude! Your cats are perfect. They are so chilled out around her. It's like they understood what's going on the moment they first met her and immediately decided that they are going to help raising this little thing.
Just goes to show how much love and trust they got from you.

I love how Loki and Sparta are both delighted by Chell. Their body language was so clear! And for such a young child, Chell was incredibly gentle and thoughtful. She was truly engaging with the cats as beings, not toys or other objects.
Oh no. This Kid will grow up with these amazing cats and the dog. Saying goodbye to them one day will be so hard for it😢

Greater Dog Snowdin that happened to me. I grew up with my dog Bailey and my cat Trouble all my life until they passed away in 2013. I'm 14 but my dog passed away at 15 and my cat at 16. It's a very hard thing to deal with. especially when you lived with them in the house for so long. for them to be gone all of a sudden . It's horrible. but it happens.
Greater Dog Snowdin it happened to me I had a rabbit then it died 3weeks after we got it even though im 12 and we had since i was 5 i loved her very much ill never forget my rabbit😢and I know that the baby wont forget the cats and dogs when they die😊

Our cat who had just given birth was a second mother to my baby.
They have to train their human from a very early age to fill the food bowl, scoop the box, and provide petting.

Cats and dogs are so weird. They can snap and hiss at people, but then have a baby nearby and it's like they know and are gentler. O-O
Maybe next time a dog chases me i can dress up like a big baby. Big diaper, sun hat and a binkie. No more hopping fences to escape dogs.
Animals are extremely perceptive to the emotions of those around them. If you are nervous and hesitant while approaching an animal, it will sense your anxiety and become nervous themselves (sometimes assuming a defensive posture or hissing.) Along the same lines, the cats can sense that the baby means them no harm and the child smells similar to their owners, so they are comfortable.

Cats can comfortably live up to 20 years and beyond that.
I lost 2 cats at 12 and 5 y/o :/ I hope my actual love will live 30 years old 'cause I couldn't handle my life without her

My mom's cat just dies this past summer at 17, and we once had a cat that we estimate was 22-23. Guiness World Records has the longest-lived housecat at 38 years (that one died in '67). A quick search for "oldest housecat" shows cats in their high 20s-mid-30s, so it's not impossible but rare enough to be *very* impressive. Have a neighbor whose dog died this past summer at the age of 21, so dogs can pull off longevity too...

1dollar Pizza When Cory was living in California years ago, Kate would point a finger at Loki and hold still. Loki would come up and pet himself on the offered finger. The way Kate would say "autopet" each time bubbled to mind.
Aww! I wish I could remember the first time I petted a cat. Seeing this makes me realise how Sparta and Loki aren't young anymore though :(

Sparta and Loki are the most chill cats ever these days! Chell has such beautiful and wide eyes. Her fascination is captivating.
The white cat is so friendly. He purposefully comes close and even eagers the baby to pet him. The brown cat doesn't do that, but he still patiently let the baby touch him.

Your cats are so caring and understanding, they did not hiss at your child and that shows a lot of trusts you as the owners have given them. they knew your little one was learning and they respected that. I have two cats of my own and my cat Pixel will run away but Timmy he may run away but he will come back and give you cuddles due to the trust I gave him. (he's an old kitty cat who is way to soft and fluffy for his good X3 I never wanna leave Timmy XD)
It always amazes me when an animal responds to an infant there is an innate sense that this is a precious fragile person this made me cry Chell has the cutest little up turned nose I never noticed it until I saw her profile lovely post

We are so HAPPY that Chell's parents filmed this & we hope it will go VIRAL. This dispels the old wives' tales that cats "harm babies" & "suck the life-breath out of babies." Horrible, horrible superstitions still going on, today, even in my neighborhood. Chell's parents did the RIGHT THING - they were there to supervise the cats' interactions with the baby and vice versa. We are so touched by the TENDERNESS of the CAT-BABY Encounter. We wish every new mother and father will see this video & understand...(a) be present @ the interaction to guide a loving exchange & (b) yes, follow it with the usual hygienic routine. But never, ever, believe in those very dreadful, stupid, nonsensical superstitions. Cats are just as GOOD as dogs and other animals. CHEERS for this BEAUTIFUL VIDEO. Thank you so much.

Omg this is too adorable! Love how the kitties are both so patient with her and they understood that she is just learning how to control her hands 😍😍 But I am also made VERY aware that the cats are quite old now.. The Mean Kitty song was released 9 years ago, so Sparta has to be at least 9 now 😱.
He has gone through such a transformation.. From a playful nibbly kitten to a sweet and loving older brother to Chell. 😍
