      James McDonald I used to take Juno to this garden all the time until one day she found and ate something which nearly killed her, no idea what it was but I’ve not taken her back there since.
      Thanks for watching mate

    I prefer a ped mower to ride-on personally, no matter how big the lawn and if it's a case of stripe width you can always double stripe with a ped

    Hi.
    I bought a Mountfield SP53H a couple of months ago, and as our grass has only recently started growing, I’m unfamiliar with the quality of its cutting. Can you tell me please, if cutting the lawn with the mulching plug fitted, results in a longer scruffier cut? I’ve got the mower set on it’s lowest setting and the grass is still a bit too long, and it looks a bit chopped.

      louismoran this customer like a natural curved look to their lawn stripe. I change it every time, this week curved next week will be diagonal.

    I have a scarify question. If you can answer I'd appreciate! 15m x 8m grass area that after the hot summer is very patchy. I know areas are compacted and the soil is not very level. I bought an electric scarifier. So for first run, what height would you suggest? Appearance after is not important! Thinking to put down some lawn soil and seed to level up a bit.

    • @uklawncare8505
      @uklawncare8505  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rob Dunfy I would start at a high setting and gradually get a bit lower, I would probably wait until next spring to hit it a bit harder. Top soil and seed for the shallow areas but again getting a bit late in the season for that now. Spring is perfect time for all those jobs.
      Hope that helps you a bit and thanks for watching mate

      Uk Lawn Care thank you!

    • @JohnnyMotel99

      Steve Ashton the soil is so compacted in parts that heavy rain floods those areas. It goes away eventually. I think I will do just a light run at a low setting, to loosen the compaction and get air to the roots?? Then in the spring do as uk suggests, with a deeper cut and soil/seed top dress. The grass is slightly overshadowed in parts by shrubs and neighbouring houses, but beyond May the sun is high enough to give a good eight hours each day of sun.

      @ Steve Ashton I have tried the hollow tine, but I was very disappointed with the manual type. It just clogged up and was very difficult to push in. The soil under the grass is really not that great. The grass type is varied, some areas have a grass that sits flat to the ground, I don't think it's couch grass but rye grass. It's seems to be these areas that have not recovered yet after the summer heat.
