I have this thought all the time and then immediately forget it: the pain we feel very often is not the thing itself (grief, rejection, sorrow, whatever) but in fact our resistance to that thing, our longing for it to be different. As soon as we slip into science of the thing, it becomes much more bearable and we can move through it, but when we resist we get stuck in it. Thanks for the reminder. Sending you love, sister!
