Finally!! A review about this helmet and the shockwave system. I've been searching for a review. I currently ride a Shoei rf1200 with the sena 20s. I was looking at the Atlas 4.0 or the Shoei x14. Thanks for the honest review man!
Shoei X14 is in a completely different league in terms of quality. I retired my X14 this year (it was 5 years old and I switched to an ADV bike). I could wear it all day and never feel any discomfort. Has amazing ventilation and visor.
good review, i just upgraded from the 3.0 to the k6. The 3.0 was so trash literally sub 100 dollar helmet liner and load as hell. when it comes to price when comparing the helmets the k6 is only $500 from American retailers if you buy it overseas you can get it in the $300 dollar range now.
Do you know if this sizes are the same? Like as long as it’s the same model the size will be the same, even thou is from overseas? Also do you know if its reliable or like if theres no problems when purchasing from overseas
Great review man! I also have reviewed the 4.0 on my channel. I did not compare it to a helmet as worthy as the K6, I compared it to my Sedici Starda 2 and Bell Qualifier. I have been on the fence with the Shockwave because I already own a Packtalk black, but I notice wind noise with the Cardo on. I think I may finally purchase the shockwave now.
I am a new rider and these are the two helmets I have. I like both but, as a new rider, I like look and feel of the ruroc more. It is more comfortable. I also like the seemless integration of the shockwave Bluetooth.
I know theres different shape heads but Ruroc sizing chart is way off…. At 55cm the chart recommended XS it came in super fast, I think it was like a 2day delivery. Well I couldn’t pass it thru my forehead… I reach out to the company and send them a attachment video so they could see. They recommended going for the ML that’s sizing up 2 sizes.
Yeah I actually ordered a small and before it even shipped I didn’t believe it so I canceled the order and ordered a medium I think and I’m glad I did because it fits really well, I think their chart is trying to compensate for after the helmet breaks in? I’m not sure
@@CodyClarkson i have a hjc cs-15 atm, so it should be 10x better as its only a low budget helmet. Have you had any issues with the cheek pads falling out?
ICON helmets are huge, hard to get on, heavy, noisey.... ..but they look cool Almost bought one glad I didn't I do have other gear from them and like it Just not their helmets
I have the same model for a 1-2 months. Do you have any issues with wind from the visor above 90-100km? At mine there is also when ventilation is off at all and it's so annoying because is right in my eyes.
I actually noticed I had wind coming through but when I pushed down on my visor more it clicked so mine seemed like it was closed but it wasn’t locked in, try that maybe you’re experiencing the same thing?🤔
@@CodyClarkson Second ride and it worst than before. Try to open and close again, but without any difference. Double check every time if it's proper closed and stable. Maybe i will return it for check or refund. I really like the helmet, but this is a big issue.
Are the shells same size inside?? I mean "M/L" etc? Atlas seems so much bigger than AGV ;/. BTW. ordered mine 1.5 month ago (4 core) and my shipment is being delayed for 2nd time. Arrival date was 18th april. Support responds like crap when i email them after 4-5 days with "sorry - worth the wait bulls". Im from EU, so its not far. NOW ITS MAY 1ST AS THEY SAY. WE WILL SEE if its another lie. so far my experience - terrible. six days since support responded me last time, they promised to write back soon -> still waiting XD.... If they sell so much helmets -----------> hire god damn more employees greedy. Not good experience for 500$+ helmet.
I’m not sure on shell size it might just be the shape throwing g off the looks of the size it might be a big larger but not enough for me to notice. Sorry it’s taking so long for shipment man that’s does suck I think it was around a month for me to get mine
Has yours broken in yet? Im trying to get mine to break in quickly so I can see if I need to exchange it for a size up, but you can only exchange/return up to 14 days of receiving and I got mine 3 days ago
@@CodyClarkson I ended up sending mine back for an exchange for a ML instead of a small so hopefully it doesn’t take forever cause, the helmet is sooooo dope

This is the review I needed. I’ve been researching both trying to decide. I Like the look of the ruroc but k6 weight was pulling more to the agv side.
You cant beat the weight of the k6 and it’s very quiet too

Yeah I’ve heard the 4.0 is night and day different from the 3.0 you can’t go wrong with the k6 either tho

I really like the shockwave for music, the only thing I wish it could do is pair with Sena, other than that though all positive reviews from me!

If the K6 is pushing to close to your face at high speeds, it's not tight enough, you need to swap out some liner components.

What size did you get? Was the si,e much different compared to the AGV?
The ruroc is a ML and the AGV is a MS so pretty close

Ordered Mine in UK on 5th April, expected delivery 16th April. It has only just shipped today 23rd. Looking forward to my Joker

How is the bass with the shockwave? I listen to a lot of hip hop/EDM when I ride.
It’s decent but I wouldn’t expect too much out of it, probably like your average headphones
does the shockwave comes apart? I mean do we need to pay separately?
They are separate but sometimes they run deals and sell them but a helmet get the shockwave free
Did you get the pinlock for the ruroc? Debating if it's necessary
Yes and I absolutely recommend a pin lock no matter what helmet you get

Anyone wearing the ruroc 4 on a Harley road glide. I tried a few different full face helmets all have massive wind noise
Idk about the ruroc specifically but my dad said everytime he wears a helmet on his Harley it rattles his head around from the wind

I rode it for about a week stright and mine feel broken in already.
Mines pretty comfortable already I’d say it gave me a headache the first time I wore it but after that I was good to go
