i carry a ferro rod. couple pieces of fatwood. and a piece of band saw blade (striker)
Cellulose guitar picks will also work well and you have the added benefit of having extra picks on you.
They do work OK but nowhere near as good as this.

Yes, you should compare, because a guitar pick pales in comparison to the inferno that is contained within this card. And, I've been playing guitar for at least 50 years and I haven't seen 10 cent picks for decades.

I 👍🏼 the video. Not sure why you’re salty about it but you just proved my point. They both burn and will start a fire. One is $8 the other is free. I’ve used the free version as a fire starter with the same results of starting a fire. If you’d prefer to pay for bigger flames I’m sure they’ll take your money but I like knowing any plastic I have or find can be used as a fire starter.
