    This is somehow one of the most beautiful things I've seen in some time - both from the art & artist perspective, and from the directing and editing process.

    So beautifully done! There are many videos of relief printmaking processes on TH-cam but this one provides a glimpse of the way print based artists look back (to their proofs, and to print history) as well as forward when developing their images. Love these glimpses of the East London print studio and the way that Wuon-Gean Ho reflects on the choreography of press work. This beautifully edited video is a clear standout. Thanks!

    What a beautiful video! I'm currently making lots of lino prints around plants and your cuts are so small yet so smooth! We have a similar press in our University print room and it can be a hard one to control (probably because of its age!) Really really lovely work, you've got a new fan!

    This is such a cool take on linocut, I’m learning linocut at the moment in school and it is really fun, however I must practice more to reach the level of linework and colouring from her. Such an informative video!

    Thank you so much for sharing your artistic life in this video. You mentioned the print location as a utopian sharing system. Is there any information, especially videos, explaining the actual origin and set up of the community print shop? I love the idea of a group of artists sharing expensive or heavy artistic equipment. Does the print shop also house a museum, of sorts, of its member’s works? Is there a commission system of sharing proceeds from work made there? I apologize for not knowing anything about this setup, by I am in the US and I am not familiar with the locations or setups in London. I am also , sadly, not an artist (despite my sincere desire to be artistic). The concept of a communal use of art space is exciting to me.

    Mesmerizing. I loved hearing the thought process. I'm curious about the part where she wiped away a bit of ink for a lighter tone (3:55). I'm super new to linocut and haven't seen this done before. Does this technique have a name?

    • @wuon-geanho8943
      @wuon-geanho8943 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hallo! Thank you! I made that technique up... It's just a way of having a lighter area of ink, so I wipe away the ink with a cloth in some areas and then roll up once with a thin layer, and end up with a double tone... :)

    They look so pretty. I thought the blocks would be thicker, well I suppose it had to be thin for the press.
