While the ultra has more pronounced audio muffling, it is an overall better phone especially for low-light shots. The tradeoff is when you're shooting an indoor live musical (or any performance) you must put up with slightly low quality audio. The S20 nails the audio but does a wacky job a stills in low-light. Both are great phones, just have to sale my kidneys to get either. Great review!

Are you sure she will like such a huge phone? I am a big guy and Note 20 Ultra feels enormous and rather heavy now that I bought it. My Samsung S8+ feels light and more pleasant to hold than the Note 20 Ultra monster. I got it for the S Pen and intend to use it as a laptop replacement for my studies thanks to Dex, but honestly, I do not feel happy about its massive size. Just double check with your wife, give her your S20 Ultra to use for a few days and see if she enjoys it.
S20U still solid with bigger battery and more zoom and 40mp front facing over 10mp , camera its varies from scene to another and thats all about Samsung applying software tricks to enhance the newest product and I cant blame them for doing so its marking after all

Audio only comes out of my earpiece speaker when you play video on the Note 20 but I hear stereo sound from both speakers when you play video on the S20. Watching on my OnePlus 7 Pro.
One thing that pauses me from upgrading from Note9 is that I still see that a lot of shots on the selfie camera have that trademark Samsung motion blur, which 99% of times is not visible on Pixel and iPhone. Very relevant when you're next to someone and want to capture the moment on the go and it is the only pain point I have with my Note 9 and I didn't have with most my iphones.

I just got my note 20 and my selfies look nothing like my older ones. I used to have a galaxy s10. These look way paler, lighter, whiter... I don't have the glow I used to have I look porcelain. I'm struggling to find a setting to make my skin and all the colors look more accurate on the selfie mode on the s20 note ultra!
Knew it wasn't a mistake getting the S20 Ultra. I was gonna hold out for the Note as I was using a Note9 before, but I got a much sweeter unlimited 5G data deal on the S20U, where the phone ends up costing me like £800 in total which is a bargain considering it's mostly the same phone as the Note20U :D Aside from some difficulty in close up low light situations, I love the camera. You win and you lose some.

They have the same specs and cameras. S20 will be updated to everything on the note besides the note part.
