Zaragoza, Spain - The sun-kissed streets of Zaragoza came alive as Princess Leonor graced the city with her presence. The eldest daughter of King Felipe and Queen Letizia embarked on a memorable journey, weaving through the heart of the Aragonese capital. From the iconic Plaza del Pilar to the historic Plaza de la Seo, her footsteps echoed with anticipation.
📸 Selfies, Cheers, and Admiration
As Leonor walked, the city buzzed with excitement. “Pretty, princess!” echoed from every corner. Neighbors gathered around the majestic Cathedral of the Savior, eager to catch a glimpse of their beloved royal. Hundreds of photos captured the moment, immortalizing this extraordinary day.
Military Medals and a New Title
Leonor, at just 18, has already carved her path. Following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather, she currently trains at the Zaragoza Military Academy in Northern Spain. Today, the future European Queen received not one, but two prestigious honors:
1. ‘Adopted Daughter’ of Zaragoza: The city council bestowed this title upon Leonor, recognizing her as a cherished figure. Her significance extends beyond royalty, touching the hearts of both the Aragonese capital and all of Spain.
2. Medals of Distinction: The Medal of Aragon and the Medal of the Cortes adorned her uniform during a grand ceremony at Aljaferia Palace. These medals symbolize her contributions-social, political, economic, cultural, and scientific-to the city she now calls her own.
A Sleek Bun and Military Precision
Leonor, poised and smart, wore her khaki uniform with pride. Her red military beret added a dash of authority, while black boots grounded her steps. Her long hair, elegantly plaited into a bun, framed her determined face. As the hat came off for the ceremony, the crowd held its breath.
Exams, Training, and a Royal Journey Ahead
Amidst her exam season, Leonor remains committed. Spain’s Armed Forces Day awaits her on June 1st. But her journey doesn’t end here. She’ll complete her training at the military academy before advancing to the General Air Academy-a path paved by duty, honor, and resilience.
A Palace Module and a Cabin of Comrades
Leonor’s initiation into military life included classroom lessons and camaraderie. The Palace shared glimpses of her transformation-the royal adapting seamlessly. In her cabin, alongside twelve fellow students, she prepared for the challenges ahead. And yes, there’s a salary-€417 a month-but Leonor, ever humble, won’t claim it.
From Atlantic College to the Skies
Before this chapter, Leonor graduated with the International Baccalaureate from UWC Atlantic College in the Welsh county of the UK. Now, Zaragoza’s military legacy beckons. Naval school awaits, and the General Air Academy stands ready. Three years of dedication lie ahead, as Princess Leonor charts her course through honor, duty, and destiny.
