also, i feel it wasnt fair bc they were already a group and they felt really like one, and the trainees were more like individuals, and sz were going to debut, you just can't compare, both did amazing. (but ofc as a stay i'm proud of that battle)
skz their was already assigned as a grp and yg their are not yet a grp. yg combine other traineed ( team a-c ) into one grp. means yg didn't excuted "teamwork" choreography well since they don't have much time and they don't know who's who on each other. so ofc, skz will ace this since they are already in grp they utilized their teamwork well since they know each other individual skills plus hey have a LEADER. and indeed they are bot amazing in their own ways.

They are so famous till now. this squad in this battle include: CHOI HYUN SUK, JUNKYU (TREASURE), BX (CIX members along with Seunghoon here) NOA ( ACE HIDDEN TRAINEE FROM JAPAN but he left before treasure box start). even these kids not debuting together but they still friends till now and their fandom: MATE (mate till the end) still active right now and support these guys . lol

I recommend also watching the rap battle part of this episode. The 2RACHA version of Matryoshka is one of SKZ's (especially Changbin's) earliest iconic moments. (But as a side note: f*ck JYP for making it be 2RACHA instead of 3RACHA.)
I'm a STAY and have no bandwidth to stan anyone else, so I literally know none of the YG trainees except through vague recognition of some names after having heard them mentioned by other people multiple times. So yeah, obviously I went into that episode rooting for SKZ. But I was and will remain impressed with the YG trainees for their work that day too. Because SKZ was a group already. They were fighting like hell to debut together, and they were exhausted and demoralized and heartbroken (because Lee Know), but they were a group. (Which is where a correction to your statement comes in: they weren't formed through the survival show; the survival was a trial/test for them after they'd formed the group.) Whereas the YG trainees were in more of that state people expect with idol survival shows: trainees doing their best while waiting and competing to be put into a group. So while I have complete faith in SKZ's abilities to have killed during that episode regardless, it does need to be acknowledged that they had an advantage over the YG side, as an extant group vs an ad hoc team for this one meetup. Anyway, props to both sides. And I've always liked that both teams were genuinely supportive and appreciative toward their competitors. I love this performance for multiple reasons, but one of the main ones is that it's so SKZ. Even this early, before they even had the green light to debut, they were already demonstrating this sense of self that's so _them._ Not just the precision and creativity and differentness, but the unexpectedness and the insta-switch between cute-n-sweet and yes-hi-we're-here-to-f*ck-you-up.

Although, I love SKZ performance here, I also appreciate YG teams effort.
