I've been a Sega guy since 1991 when I was 9-years-old. The first game I played and beat on a Sega Genesis is Sonic The Hedgehog. I actually picked a Sega Genesis over a Super Nintendo when my dad took me shopping for one of these systems. I made the right choice because Sega gave me great memories.
@ Yeah but I probably wouldn't have been able to appreciate Sega Genesis as much if I had chosen the Super Nintendo. Mine came with Sonic The Hedgehog, I ended up becoming a fan instantly, buying Sonic comics and watching Sonic The Hedgehog cartoons.
You are a gamer at this point. I'm glad you entered the Sega realm. The SG-1000, Sega Master System, Saturn, and Dreamcast are also worth checking out.

All these might be too tough for her at this point, although Hyperstone Heist should be doable, since it's just a beat-'em-up like SOR2. Sonic Spinball might be a good choice, since it's pretty much just pinball. A slower game like Shining Force, could be a sleeper. I think the first mission gets you out of the town and onto the first map pretty easily. Fortunately, it's hard to get lost or stuck for that first town. If I remember, they literally just take you there on a carriage.
@@HCRAYERT. Haven't played Ristar. Loved Rocket Knight Adventure as a kid, since it had all the elements that I loved. Rockets, knights and marsupials. But looking at some gameplay of the first levels to refresh my memory, it might not be the best game for her. I'm sure she'll discover the rocket mechanic early, and that's super fun. And most of the stage could be cleared by just slashing through. But it looks like there's a couple of mid-bosses that require a jump + attack combo, or a timed dodge. Could be a little too advance at this point? You know what? Shoot 'em ups like the Thunder Force games might be perfect. Sure, they're relatively tough, but also simple. Just move around and shoot. They look great and have amazing soundtracks too.
@@apollolux Shining Force had perma-death? It's been a long time, so I don't remember that at all. I mean, unlike say, the Fire Emblem games, it's not hard to keep everyone alive. Man, I gotta go and check. I seriously didn't remember that aspect. I remember that you lost the mission if Max dies, but otherwise... Anyway, the recommendation is based more on the controls aspect. Since the game lets you cycle through all the options at the push of a single button. I would presume a beginner wouldn't inspect every item though, and yes, having to strategize, especially for some of the tougher levels, does make the game quite tough for a beginner. But at least she wouldn't need to press more than one button, which seems to be the issue with the other games. On an unrelated note, I'm not trying to passive aggressively insult the channel host, lol, sorry if it comes off as that. It's just that I noticed that she seemed to only use the D-Pad and press one singular button. So I'd recommend games that don't require using more than 1 button.
Amazing, loved seeing you enjoy these games, and the old sega ads too; definitely agree that streets of rage is the most fun out of the 3. Sega has such a special place in my heart, as the genesis was my very first console, and sonic 2 was my first video game ever, so seeing that even new gamers can enjoy these classics still, is very heartwarming!

My favorite thing about watching you play these games is your determination. When you die you don't get discouraged, you just talk some sass and go back at it. Keep killing it! 🤘
I'm a Sega guy so very cool to see you be a Sega girly lol. Great choices! Lore time. Super funny you keep calling him Miles. Tails is the nickname Sonic gave him when they met because he's a mutant fox (akin to the Japanese mythical kisune) who can fly due his two tails. Tails hates his birthname. Also, Sonic, whose name is in reference to the speed of sound, Tails' birthname reads miles per hour (Miles Prower.). Sonic was so revolutionary due to the speed of the game and that you can hit enemies from various directions. Before this, platformers were: awkward blocky jump, bonk enemy on head. Repeat. Slowly. Very few slopes. Last thing, Tails will follow Sonic to every command, but you can also get a second controller and someone else can play Tails. He won't ever die with Sonic, so he's free to do basically whatever the hell he wants. Strangely (and the one factor that makes S3 better for me), is that you can't actually fly as Tails in this game. Super weird. Although I would love to see the game done to completion, I think it's more realistic that if you did one to completion, it would be Street of Rage 2. Which would also be very badass. P.S.: I recommend the book or documentary, Console Wars. I could go into another eight paragraphs about how Sonic 1 upset the whole gaming industry but do check that out. Sega was David, and Nintendo was Goliath in 1991
It's a lot of fun watching you slowly get better at games. Actually, you know what? Not even slowly, you've progressed pretty quickly, all things considered. Must be all that confidence.
Just wanna send you a ton of love because your awesome and deserve the best ❤️ have fantastic weekend ahead and keep being the brilliant soul that you are. Genuinely i know your a new gamer and i love that you genuinely enjoy it thats so good too see it makes me smile your not too far off from being great at playing games 👍
You can't understand what a pleasure it is for someone over forty like me to see young people having fun with old video games!! A couple of tips from the 90s; the real pearls are the arcade versions, more than the console conversions; Cadillac and Dinosaurs, Dynablaster, Pang, Street Fighter II the World Warrior and Street Fighter II Champions Edition, Asterix, WWF Wrestlefest and I'll even include Poker Ladies (ok ok, I know, but it's a timeless classic) 😃😃
There's actually nothing wrong with your rating! You picked 3 of some of the top tier Genesis games, so it's perfectly reasonable to prefer Castlevania Bloodlines or Streets of Rage 2 to Sonic 2. I myself love those games too. Also I really liked your attitude when approaching the games, not being scared about the fact they are retro and could be considered "dated" but actually praising them for what they were at the time. Definitely an enjoyable video.
Hey, you took my advice and did some Genny games, that's great! You're absolutely right, Streets of Rage 2 is a banger: it still has one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming after all these years. If you do another Genesis video I'd recommend Golden Axe, Toe Jam and Earl and maybe Phantasy Star IV since I remember you dig RPGs. Keep up the great work!
"This is the first opportunity I've ever got to be a woman in a video game", "I could unironically play this" right out the gate Kelly is saying hilarious shit
I really enjoyed the video (those are 3 of my top ten Sega games) and just wanted to respond to your comment about who created the Sonic ring sound. Unless the sound effect was used in an earlier Sega game (very possible, they developed a library of them over time) it would most likely have been one of three people: Masato Nakamura, Hiroshi Kubota or Yukifumi Makino. Kubota or Makino are the most likely because they were credited as sound programmers and Nakamaura was credited as the sound producer, but it wouldn’t be unheard of for the producer to work on at least some sound fx. I used to get asked to give lectures on game music history and have developed some custom Genesis sound myself, but the sound fx side isn’t the focus of my background, so I wish I had a more definitive answer. :)
Some SOR2 tips: - Destroy objects. They may have health items or points items hidden in them. - You can earn extra lives by racking up points - Attacks performed with the A button drain a little bit of your health, so use them sparingly. A good way to use them is if you've got a lot of enemies that need to be dealt with quickly. If an enemy has grabbed you, they will also help you free yourself. - Use the B button to pick up items and weapons. - Get close to someone in order to grab them. Once grabbed, you can either straight up attack them with the B button or you can throw them. If you do a somersault and then throw, it's a different attack that does more damage as some of the characters. - If an enemy throws you, hold Up + C in order to land on your feet and not get any damage - To defeat Jet, try to stay far away from him when he's going up to do his superman punch attack and jump kick him as he's flying towards you
The minute you got hit in Sonic and lost all the rings, I just immediately thought of that very good piece of wisdom JelloApocalypse made in his video describing Sonic. He loses all of his life savings whenever he stubs a toe. Recent titles are a lot more generous as now he just loses a certain number of rings instead of all of them.
Great video! I was a teenager when the Genesis came out and I loved it. I still think the 16-bit era is my favorite gaming timeframe. I was a Sega kid back then but still loved the SNES. Keeps playing the 8-bit and 16-bit era games! Also that part in Sonic 2 you got stuck on is probably one of the hardest parts in the entire game besides the last two bosses. Everyone gets stuck at part at first.
I will never forget getting the SEGA Fighting System for Christmas, absolutely amazing. Still play Streets of Rage to this day. Speaking of virgins, this is my first time and subscribed!
I might regret this, but I’ve subscribed. Games you should try are one’s with tons of personality and/or excellent dialogue. -River City Girls 2 (with the Double Dragon DLC) You’ll love it. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s hilarious, charming, a hoot and insightful. (Play this one with your husband, it’s too difficult for single player). -Super Mario Odyssey. The only Mario game I’d recommend for this channel. It has tons of personality. The best Mario game, _just for you,_ to explore. (I say this also because if it is the case that you’ve never played a video game before, the 2D one’s are definitely _not_ the place to start. _These are not, easy)._ -Metal Gear Solid: Revengence, an absolutely wild experience! -and in the same vein as Revengence, any of the Bayonetta’s, maybe a Devil May Cry, but you would very likely vibe with Bayonnetta. -Mortal Kombat X, 11 and yes even MK1. -Injustice 2 -Street Fighter 6!!!! The dialogue is gets watered down in the hub-world, but the character creator and the Street Fighter ladies are a perfect fit for the vibe of this channel. In fact, I highly recommend Street Fighter 6 as one of the games you must approach next! -Just the arcade mode.- Street Fighter 6 is an uncanny and surreal experience, it may become your favorite, just for the aesthetic, which is what they maker of that game _is known for._ Don’t worry about getting good, just show up for the ladies. Great Stuff! Edit: Actually I’m wrong about the hub world in Street Fighter 6! Do it! That’s content! You learn so much about the characters! Go all in in Street Fighter 6 Hub World!
The Sega Era with golden gems like SOR Trilogy,Golden Axe,Castlevania,...hope you enjoyed playing these games.Childhood memories for me.Streets Of Rage 2 not any game can beat this gem.
Sonic 2 is basically second nature to me now, but as a kid I remember it took me days to beat Chemical Plant. It can be pretty hard, I agree. Streets of Rage 2 is still one of the best of it's genre. Characters have plenty of extra moves and the game gets even better when you learn how to do them. Loved watching you play.
In early arcade games, each player's turn or life was referred to as being "up," similar to how it's used in sports like baseball (e.g., "You're up next"). The term "UP" became a convenient shorthand in limited-display environments like arcade cabinets. Over time, it evolved into a part of gaming culture and remained in use for identifying players and extra lives. It's simple, efficient, and nostalgic for many gamers.
I think the message of the commercial at the beginning is that the bullies learned that this kid got the console, so they became nice hoping he would invite them to play it. Despite being more economic than other 16 bit competitors, it still was not like buying a pack of bread 😁
LOL!!! You sound like my wife when she tried to play games like these! Solid game selection! I have the physical copies of all these games; nothing like playing these on the original hardware. Sonic the Hedgehog came out when I was 11, and is still my favorite game character. The first 4 Sonic games for the Genesis are incredible to this day (1, 2, 3 and Sonic & Knuckles). #RETROGAMING4EVER :)
This is excellent Thank you for sharing your experiences playing video games, particularly your first time and with the Sega Genesis. can this be better? God bless you. 7:20
When my parents bought my SEGA Genesis in 1992 it was bundled with Streets of Rage 2, its one of my all time favorite game, I probably beat it 100x. Your reaction is off the chains.
Streets of Rage 2 is one of my all-time top 10 favorite genesis games. I think it was the 3rd game I ever got and the first one I ever beat. One thing about the music is that Yuzo Koshiro, the composer, went on to be a club DJ and regularly does live shows of the game's OST. The guy was a wizard with the sega sound font. Only other composer to really match his level was Rob Hubbard, the composer of Road Rash. He leaned into the awful "electric farting" of the genesis sound system and made some amazing grunge inspired tracks. Anyway, I hope you manage to beat Streets of Rage 2 on your free time. One of the best, and most satisfying feel good endings to a videogame. Plus the ending music is a banger and even to this day gets me a little choked up when I hear it.
@VideoGameVirgin There's tons of stories about different games and their music. Like Michael Jackson working on the Sonic 3 OST. He went uncredited because he was so disappointed with the genesis' sound that he backed out of the deal. But a lot of the songs remained in the game and sound very recognizable.
@@solblackguy Michael Jackson already had his own game on the Genesis. He knew what the thing could and couldn't do. If he didn't - he was even more out of touch with reality than he appeared at the time. He (and his ghost composers) went uncredited because he started having certain nasty legal/reputation problems that no company would want associated with their flagship product. Also, guys like Yuzo Koshiro, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Sonic Team, Technosoft and other greats didn't use any "fonts". They wrote their own audio drivers. The Genesis FM+PSG chips did not inherently produce any "electric farting" sounds by the way. Those were the effect of poor use of the GEMS driver, which can be described as a "font", I suppose. Its auto-arrange feature was particularly terrible and yes, that's what they used for the placeholder soundtrack in Doom 32X.
These are some of the games I grew up on. The Streets of Rage series is an all time favorite of mine. Own all the soundtracks. I remember in the early 2000’s, I was driving my friends to a college party, and we were blasting the Sonic 2 soundtrack and having a great time. And that Genesis Does What Nintendont is a true classic of that era. All the commercials you played are. Sega’s advertising back then was amazing.
For anyone new to Kelly's channel, she is a brilliant, funny, witty, awesome and an absolute badass of a human. She says she's a new gamer but sometimes plays so well that you'll begin to question if she's faking it 😂😂😂 jokes aside you'll love her content she is fantabulous .
Streets Of Rage 2 is the only Genesis game I could complete :D. Here are 5 tips for you: 1. Use the throw move to launch enemies into each other (walk into the enemy to grab them, then press backwards and punch). 2. Use jump kicks on the jetpack boss when he's doing the horizontal flying punch. 3. Break all the objects in the stage to find items like health refills. 4. When thrown, hold up and jump to land on your feet and take no damage 5. There's a hidden extra life when you exit the truck in Stage 2- Position your character with their head visible through the window to pick it up.
If you're really up for a challenge for playing Sonic 2 On the title screen press up until you see "Options" and press "Start" Go to "Sound Test" and enter "19, 65,09,17" Use the "C" button to enter the code Then hold "A" and press "Start" When you're back at the title screen hold "A" and press "Start" When you're at the "Level Select" screen go to "Sound Test" and enter "04,01,02,06" using the "C" button to enter the codes Then go to "Emerald Hill" and collect "50" rings Have fun!
Yeah, was surprised you beat Jet. Not so much because he's tough, he's actually pretty easy. But as a new gamer who's only been pressing the one button (for the most part) for the last couple stages, I didn't think you'd adapt in time. Sonic 2's probably the easiest of the games you tried out. Pro Tip: Don't just keep holding onto the right directional button. That's pretty much the whole reason the game probably wasn't as fun for you. It's similar to Streets of Rage 2 where you were pressing just the one button and was mostly ignoring the other buttons. Anyways, glad you gave the games a fair shake and hope you had some fun.
SOR2 is one of my favorite games ever! My cousin and I would spend countless weekends cleaning up the crime-ridden city as we fought our way to Mr.X. Good times.
First of all: i just met ur channel, and the name is GENIUS 😂😂😂😂 Second: u chose good games, but i would have gone for another one besides Castlevania, but still solid selections! As a SEGA guy, I'm looking forward to seeing u play some Sega again!
I think one thing that might add to your experience is looking up old manuals, they couldnt fit tutorials in games so you were expected to read the book for what you could do and backstory
I'm saying nobody was _trying_ to have a tutorial. The space was not a limiting factor in that. On the other hand we _lost_ manuals because paper manuals are crazy expensive compared to just walking someone through your existing game engine with some text boxes.
I'd think Sonic 2 is the easiest of these three, but the Sonic games demand learning the physics based platforming. They're like a racing game that starts out with you just driving over the designated road at first without doing anything fancy, but then you start discovering tricks and find tons of shortcuts that make everything so much faster, and it's very satisfying when you get into it.
Sonic 2 is one of my favourite games of all time. Streets of Rage 2 is awesome as well. Glad you enjoyed playing Mega Drive/Genesis, my favourite games console. 👍
You did well. It should be worth noting that old-school Castlevania platformers we notoriously difficult. Brawlers like Streets of Rage are some of the few titles I can get my wife to play with me. Incidentally "Press 2Up" means press start on Controller #2 fir Player 2 to join It was entertaining to see you taking the wraps off these classics for the first time. It takes me back to the 90s
If you do more genesis games, I recommend Ristar. It's one of the most beautiful looking games on the system, the music is top notch, and the gameplay is fun too.
I remember playing this game(streets of rage 2) when I was a kid and Jet, the second boss is one of the hardest in the game. You basically beat him by being very aggressive with jump attacks (C and B) And then dodging his normal stuff.
in castlevania , the clouds of the intro looks very pixelated but in a CTR tv (the old televisions) this pixeled cloud turns to blurry effect that is the true effect of the game , because the pixels blend between them
Oh that’s super cool actually! I’ll have to check it out…I mean I still loved the pixelated look and thought it was a really visually interesting way to depict transparency
@@VideoGameVirgin exist some videos about it , like the one of " Wobbling Pixels" th-cam.com/video/nw2QfPREu-Q/w-d-xo.html , is incredible how the devs make this tricky things to obtain some effects in retro pixel art
Streets of Rage 2 was the best of the Genesis trilogy and an overall amazing and still timeless game. Glad you enjoyed it! Does have me wanna try the modern made Streets of Rage 4 🤔
NES was my first console and I loved it but the Genesis is the console that really made me a 'gamer.' So many great memories from that era. Streets of Rage 2 is still my all-time favorite beat-em-up. Holds up incredibly well even 3 decades on.
Sega Genesis is awesome! I've had mine since I was 7 in 1993 mine came with Sonic 2. Still have it. I have the Sega Genesis collection on the Nintendo Switch, has all these games remastered in HD. Best way to play them now I'd say! Also you're cute loved watching you play these games 🎮 😏 😉
It's neat that you check out the commercials first. But you should also read the manual before playing. Reading the manual in the backseat of the car on the way back from the store was a big part of the experience. Also it was often expected and required to play the game properly or get the story. That being said you picked up Streets of Rage 2 pretty well
FWIW, many beat 'em ups like the Streets of Rage and Final Fight games (and even some other game genres) use health bars with multiple colors to show how much more health enemies have beyond the base level often because there isn't space to make the health bar visually "bigger" instead. I kinda liked how Kingdom Hearts did it by showing tiny pips under the base health bar, one for each extra bar the character has, until I fought Sephiroth in 2 and kept getting wrecked while he had basically 50 pips or whatever.
Sega doesn’t miss. Even when they stepped away from making consoles, it was never a matter of quality, more a marketing issue. From Systems to Games, they've always kept it 💯
Kelly playing Streets Of Rage and kicking some serious ass in it is a vision too behold, this human is way too likable has too be said Kelly your a Legend your use of swear words always makes me crack up ❤. She's definitely a vgv - didn't even notice that in SOR2, how there were tables, bins and signs and whatnot to attack to get extra health, lives or points....
So, whenever they show Tails' full name, they say Miles "Tails" Prower. And since they put his nickname in the middle, I never noticed that Miles Prower is a pun for miles per hour.
Chemical Plant is one of my favorite zones now, but it frustrated me when I first played, too. The next 2 zones are easier than that one imo. And congrats on being a Sega kid, lol!
Sega Genesis is more than just about Sonic, but you’re a non-gamer so I can understand why you think that and Streets of Rage 2 is an absolute banger and best game on the system. Here is a tip when you’re being thrown by the enemy tap to see button as fast as you can and you should land on your feet. And you should’ve played Sonic 3 instead as Sonic 2 is overrated lol.
You were doing a great job, You will get there when you get use to it enough in SOR2, You just gotta hit the items more like the trash cans, tables, chairs, Look for the Turkey for full life..
I've never managed to get into Streets of Rage or that particular Castlevania game, but I did just play through all of Sonic Origins last week. For Sonic 2, it was definitely _a choice_ to have the game's water levels spread across the 2nd and 3rd zones, immediately following the warmup zone. While they weren't as challenging as the brutal Labyrinth Zone (zone #4) of the first game, Chemical Plant Zone is a pretty big step up in difficulty from Emerald Hill with all those water traps. That said, the game does immediately get better after Chemical Plant. _(But if you make it to the end, you're punished with the series' most unforgiving final boss.)_
Tip for SoR2: chairs/tables/signs/barrels in the environment can be broken to find health-restoring items, points, 1ups etc. - pretty important. I notice you didn't seem to break anything.
Streets of Rage 2 (called Bare Knuckle 2 in Japan) was probably the best side scrolling beat-em-up of all time until Streets of Rage 4 came out in 2019 on modern platforms. Sonic 2 was groundbreaking in its time...it was a big improvement over the first, and at the time there just wasn't anything else like it. It's what put Sega on the map and made them outsell Nintendo for awhile. Anyway beat-em-ups like this all play very similarly. The genre is considered retro now but there were a lot of copycats to games like this in the 90's. There are a lot of things you can learn that make it easier to handle lots of enemies. If you like it though, you should DEFINTIELY check out Streets of Rage 4. I have it for the Switch, but it's available for prett much everything. Same idea, but modern systems don't have the graphic and color limitations of the 16-bit days. Castlevania games are (generally) known for their brutal difficulty.

Sega was David, and Nintendo was Goliath in 1991
You are playing my childhood classic Streets Of Rage 2 and Sonic 2💯💯🔥🔥
It's a lot of fun watching you slowly get better at games. Actually, you know what? Not even slowly, you've progressed pretty quickly, all things considered. Must be all that confidence.
Just wanna send you a ton of love because your awesome and deserve the best ❤️ have fantastic weekend ahead and keep being the brilliant soul that you are.
Genuinely i know your a new gamer and i love that you genuinely enjoy it thats so good too see it makes me smile your not too far off from being great at playing games 👍
Decent game selection. I can't wait to watch through this one . Keep making these 😊
You can't understand what a pleasure it is for someone over forty like me to see young people having fun with old video games!!
My mum struggled with those Chemical Plant zone platforms back in 1993
I did too when I was 11 in 1994
Also a chance you might run into the scary drowning theme during this level
Hey, you took my advice and did some Genny games, that's great! You're absolutely right, Streets of Rage 2 is a banger: it still has one of the greatest soundtracks in gaming after all these years.
If you do another Genesis video I'd recommend Golden Axe, Toe Jam and Earl and maybe Phantasy Star IV since I remember you dig RPGs. Keep up the great work!
"This is the first opportunity I've ever got to be a woman in a video game", "I could unironically play this" right out the gate Kelly is saying hilarious shit
I'm enjoying your videos
Wow! That’s actually such a cool thing to be knowledgeable about…honestly thank you for the info because the sonic ring sound is simply chefs kiss
Some SOR2 tips:
- Destroy objects. They may have health items or points items hidden in them.
- You can earn extra lives by racking up points
- Attacks performed with the A button drain a little bit of your health, so use them sparingly.
- If an enemy throws you, hold Up + C in order to land on your feet and not get any damage
- To defeat Jet, try to stay far away from him when he's going up to do his superman punch attack and jump kick him as he's flying towards you
The minute you got hit in Sonic and lost all the rings, I just immediately thought of that very good piece of wisdom JelloApocalypse made in his video describing Sonic. He loses all of his life savings whenever he stubs a toe. Recent titles are a lot more generous as now he just loses a certain number of rings instead of all of them.
Such beaty playing these sega classics!? Subscribed! 🔥😍🎮❤
_These are not, easy)._
-Metal Gear Solid: Revengence, an absolutely wild experience!
-and in the same vein as Revengence, any of the Bayonetta’s, maybe a Devil May Cry, but you would very likely vibe with Bayonnetta.
-Mortal Kombat X, 11 and yes even MK1.
-Injustice 2
-Street Fighter 6!!!! The dialogue is gets watered down in the hub-world, but the character creator and the Street Fighter ladies are a perfect fit for the vibe of this channel. In fact, I highly recommend Street Fighter 6 as one of the games you must approach next!
-Just the arcade mode.-
Street Fighter 6 is an uncanny and surreal experience, it may become your favorite, just for the aesthetic, which is what they maker of that game _is known for._ Don’t worry about getting good, just show up for the ladies.
Great Stuff!
Edit: Actually I’m wrong about the hub world in Street Fighter 6! Do it! That’s content! You learn so much about the characters! Go all in in Street Fighter 6 Hub World!
Streets of Rage 2 is still one of my favorite games! And you were pretty good at it to!
Chemical plant was HARD so I’m glad I’m not the only one lol
@@VideoGameVirgin that level is tough well act 1 isnt so bad but act 2 is a hard 1
Chemical Plant seems tough the first time you play the game, until you get to Flying Battery Zone etc. and realize it was a total breeze.
@@yellowblanka6058 How about Labyrinth Zone in Sonic 1? 😮
@@adamromero that too
In early arcade games, each player's turn or life was referred to as being "up," similar to how it's used in sports like baseball (e.g., "You're up next").
The term "UP" became a convenient shorthand in limited-display environments like arcade cabinets. Over time, it evolved into a part of gaming culture and remained in use for identifying players and extra lives. It's simple, efficient, and nostalgic for many gamers.
I loved everything about the Sonic part, especially you government-naming my boy Tails. 😛
I’m so obsessed with the idea that the music had to be designed with the hardware in mind. Something about that is beautiful
That Streets of Rage soundtrack is amazing
love when you upload these!!
I'm cracking up this was very entertaining 😂❤
Simp nerd here. Keep kicking ass, you remind me of how fun games are. Nice hair btw
You should try all Streets of Rage games (even Streets of Rage Remake) watching you play, I could hear you all day while playing it
If it’s your first time playing the Castlevania game, you missed out the opportunity to play with a whip
That was my childhood, playing streets of rage 2 and sonic 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my brothers.
If you're really up for a challenge for playing Sonic 2
On the title screen press up until you see "Options" and press "Start"
Go to "Sound Test" and enter "19, 65,09,17" Use the "C" button to enter the code
Then hold "A" and press "Start"
When you're back at the title screen hold "A" and press "Start"
When you're at the "Level Select" screen go to "Sound Test" and enter "04,01,02,06" using the "C" button to enter the codes
Then go to "Emerald Hill" and collect "50" rings
Have fun!
When you get a chance play all three of them, you're going to love them😊
SOR2 is one of my favorite games ever! My cousin and I would spend countless weekends cleaning up the crime-ridden city as we fought our way to Mr.X. Good times.
Not ready for that Blast Processing in Sonic 2. lol
First of all: i just met ur channel, and the name is GENIUS 😂😂😂😂
Second: u chose good games, but i would have gone for another one besides Castlevania, but still solid selections! As a SEGA guy, I'm looking forward to seeing u play some Sega again!
Ah yeeeaaa! Now you're gamin'
I think one thing that might add to your experience is looking up old manuals, they couldnt fit tutorials in games so you were expected to read the book for what you could do and backstory
"They couldn't fit tutorials."
What. No. Manuals were the norm and tutorials were unheard of.
@@SwiftJustice we’re saying the same thing just emphasized for a modern context
Incidentally "Press 2Up" means press start on Controller #2 fir Player 2 to join
It was entertaining to see you taking the wraps off these classics for the first time. It takes me back to the 90s
Blast processing is almost too real. They haven’t used it in a console since the Sega. Beauty vid
I fell so hard for blast processing
This was great. You got to do Sega Dreamcast next or original Xbox
Video game commercials went maximum hard back in the '90s, it's really a lost art.
I wanna know the ad agency that was working with sega because they did not hold back
@@VideoGameVirgin Yeah, Sega was savage with its advertising back in the day. Heard the term "Blast Processing" yet?
@@VideoGameVirgin exist some videos about it , like the one of "
Wobbling Pixels" th-cam.com/video/nw2QfPREu-Q/w-d-xo.html , is incredible how the devs make this tricky things to obtain some effects in retro pixel art
That being said you picked up Streets of Rage 2 pretty well
In Streets of Rage 2, you would've done much better if you destroyed the objects because there's health in the objects that you can pick up
I agree with your ranking with SoR2 at number 1. I still play that game to this day. It's so much fun to play as Max and rag doll bad guys around.
You should do Gameboy next. I recommend: Pokemon Red/Blue, Shantae, and Wario Land 2
2UP means "player 2" in old video game language. So "Press 2UP start" is how the second player could join the game.
You have to play Mickey in the castle of illusion
That's still a fun little title, my only complaint is Mickey's walking speed.
Can confirm my ears were diddled by bullies until I played Streets of rage. It's true. All of it.
Band name!
This new video is so awesome and I love it. ❤❤❤❤
Not picking up the weapons or punching the tables/trash cans for goodies is making me nuts lol
Sega doesn’t miss. Even when they stepped away from making consoles, it was never a matter of quality, more a marketing issue. From Systems to Games, they've always kept it 💯
For her first time , she not doing bad
Kelly playing Streets Of Rage and kicking some serious ass in it is a vision too behold, this human is way too likable has too be said Kelly your a Legend your use of swear words always makes me crack up ❤.
The Sega Genesis is called Mega Drive here in the UK .
If you ever make a membership thing on here I will join absolutely adore your content your awesome ❤
I’m so glad I got you to crack up dilvamp, mission accomplished!!
@@VideoGameVirgin you can call me Dil if you'd like 👍 all my friends do.
Awesome, hi Dil!
@VideoGameVirgin did I just make a new friend? I think so hehe your freaking awesome keep smashing it 👍❤️ hope you'll have a wonderful weekend as well .
OMGGGGG MY MIND IS BLOWN
I tend to choose max because he's so powerful you can just decimate a crowd of lower-end enemies, and his slide move is fun and has good priority.
One of my favorite games, welcome to the Golden age
Chemical Plant is one of my favorite zones now, but it frustrated me when I first played, too. The next 2 zones are easier than that one imo. And congrats on being a Sega kid, lol!
For Round 2 I would suggest: Gunstar Heroes, Comix Zone, Alisa Dragoon. Round 3? Ecco the Dolphin, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Shinobi 3
Stage clear: You've cleared out all the bad guys on that stage.
🔥🔥🔥 Your videos are the shit. Thank you.
Awww thank you 🔥 🔥
I've never managed to get into Streets of Rage or that particular Castlevania game, but I did just play through all of Sonic Origins last week.
"Press 2 up start". I'm peeing.. lol. I wanna hang out and play some Sega Genesis with you someday.
