I picked up a 1984 Yamaha 225dx 3 wheeler that needed some light restoration, I made this video to show the process of what i do to bring back a little life into these old machines.
@@jlistdiy Good to find another Michigan Person on youtube! I subed you, you have great content! we are in Saginaw, were are you located? do you ride any trails? Take care!
We had a Yamaha 200 years ago…that thing was a blast. The muffler was shot and it was loud as hell, lol. You could hear it echo throughout the woods from a mile away whenever you rode it.
Pretty nice work, Jamie! 😊
It's good as new again!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you It definitely turned out nice
Love it! Great job on bringing that old girl back to life, I am probably going to be buying a 225DX in the next few days, I appreciate your tutorial.

i love the sound of rusted mufflers they do sound cool though my 225 has a quarter inch line crack in the header and it has a unique sound ahha
Great job….
I did the same thing to a Polaris trail boss 350 4x4
Thank you
so just a razer blade, and lightly scrap the plastic? nice!
Yes it seems to work great I've done a few machines like that with great results
@@jlistdiy Thanks I will give it A try.
I picked mine up, I will be back to ask you a few questions.
Ok
Hi, did you just use sand paper on the plastics?
I used a razor blade
I’m in spring lake. Do you work on these for other people?
I do sometimes just depends on what needs to be done
How did you get that plastic looking bright again? Mine is blue and crusty as you said. Would love for it to look newer again
After I scrapped it with the razor blade I powerwashed it
No kidding. My next project. Thank man. You do good work
@@deryksammet8041 thank you and your welcome
