Just finished this message…one of the most penetrating messages I have ever heard.
The story at the end about Damaris’ experience with intense jealousy as a young married woman was dynamic. I had similar issues with jealousy for longer than she did. Had I realized the answer, the healing I needed, would be found by burying myself in the Word of God. Would have saved me hours and days and weeks etc of being mad at my husband and feeling hateful toward other women. A great message from beginning to end. God bless you, Damaris!

Oh my. Damaris' story is very similar to mine! The Holy Spirit worked mightily through a Biblical Counselor to expose my pride that was making me crazy controlling and terrified about what my husband was thinking and doing. It still tries to creep in sometimes, but I am quicker to recognize it, take my thoughts captive, and submit to the Lord. He is faithful!

At 10:32, Damaris breaks down a passage I had never stopped to consider in this way - about how the Pharisees looked at Scripture - not letting the Word lead them to Him. Then she asks if we read the Word and do the same - not come to Him. That’s a penetrating question to ask myself. How often do I read the Scriptures (maybe a bit perfunctorily?) and then, not go to You, Jesus? Yet, still You call. God forgive me and help my feet to be swift in running to You to know You who is Perfect Love, Perfect Peace, Perfect Joy, Perfect Life!

She was not dramnatizing. Sr. Damaris explained at the beginning of her sharing that she is a person with deep emotions who condiders herself a "crier." She was crying genuinely out of the well of emotions over what she was sharing. She even admitted to being a drammatic person. However, she was not drammatizing or what I consider to be 'putting on a show.' God bless You in Jesus' Light 🌅, Love ❤ and Truth 💯.
