Maggie Z It's pretty simple, watch some tutorials they should help you out, just look up how to make an audio spectrum on youtube and you should find the method on how this is made, it took me a while to get used to it, about a week or 2 :) Hope this helps out ^^

It's cause there's like at least 5 distinct styles of dubstep, and you've probably only come across this sort recently. Or maybe your mind has finally adapted to see the beauty. :) Those are my thoughts on possible reasons. One way or another, enjoy! :D
