It’s a good job that one guy had smart water instead of regular old stupid water or it could have been a lot worse.
😂
😂😂😂💀
Odd on Drew’s channel? Didn’t think I would see that today.
Tf you doing here 😮
A Warthunder player can be a car guy?! 😱😱
Here's a great piece of advice. All of your cars have performance modifications, therefore; you should equip each one with at least a small fire extinguisher.
That's what I thought he was initially searching for
Here's the thing though. His Sti was bone stock other than coilovers wheels and other appearance mods. But I do agree , he needs them for his other cars.
Or a bottle of water and good insurance
@@jaysteez2025 even with a bone stock car, it’s good practice to have a fire extinguisher within reach
@@VIRIS2well yeah sure but a stock car where dru hasn't touched the engine like ever? Especially an STI that isn't even that old of a car? Its pretty crazy that this solidifies my choice of never owning a subaru...

Good old Subaru, can't fuck with them
Glad you’re ok and hopefully Carmax takes responsibility. For future reference, carry a small fire extinguisher in your cars and you could’ve used all the dirt around you to help put out the fire. Keep up the great work.
I think we all expected a catastrophic failure when you got the STI. Haha
Yeah nobody expected this dummy to be able to keep a Subaru running 😂 he can identify fake vents but that's where his car knowledge ends

An 8th or 9th generation civic si sedan would be a great option. You can slap a supercharger on it with a small pulley and make a good 300+ whp. It would be fun too and reliable too.
2013-2019 Lexus GS350. Great daily driver and they make a supercharger kit for it.

Depending on how bad the fire is dirt might work or help slow it down until someone can help put it out
fine particles can actually make a fire worse. even sand when heated can catch on fire. its a good idea for a flat, open fire on the ground but not so much for a confined space.
@@HAV0X_ huh I didn’t know that thank you for the info

I was surprised that you didn't had fire extinguisher I know that it is not that common for cars to catch on fire spontaneously but it's always good to have one especially in cars that you drive hard or put out solid amount of power they can save your car or even life.
His issues were: 1) knowing there was a power steering problem yet continuing to drive and turn the wheel 2) continuing to drive it for several minutes tuning the wheel 3) leaving the car running after pulling over. Of course by the time you get to number 3 it's already damage done as we saw. You hear noises like that you pull over immediately.
With the reservoir overflowing like that I think they put a new rack in and never bled it.
Dodge Ram SRT10 for the daily. The ultimate truck to troll
The Subaru was like you want content I’ll give you content
Subaru : catches fires
It’s the pump pulling air into the system and that’s why your tank is overflowing. It’s probably the pump has a seal that’s shot or the feed line to the pump has a hole in it.
The VA chassis was known for steering rack issues mainly pre 2019. I believe you got the 2018 right? 2019+ was a really good change for these cars. Type RA block, addition of CarPlay, etc. I think best bet at this point is to have Carmax replace the steering rack. I had a 2019 STi and I’ve had multiple Subarus. This generation was known for steering rack issues 2015-2018. Personally if Carmax doesn’t fix the rack I’d make them buy it back
RA block is still only an open deck cast piston engine. Nothing special. Still gets ringland and rod knock.
I had to replace the seals in the power steering rack in my 16 STI. Works good now.
@@Craiggg12345 It's still a much better option that’s proven to hold more power and be more reliable. I put a lot of miles on my 19 block and it was pro tuned and I’ve never had an issue. To be fair alot of people know how to handle these cars and do what needs to be done to correct the issues with the EJ in general.
@@Zaakro yeah steering rack issues are common unfortunately
They’ve already “fixed” it. At this point just have them buy it back. They’ll just attempt to temporarily patch the issue until warranty expires and then you’ll be fucked with the repair bill.
Hahaha love how you kick started the fire even more by 1st just stopping the car when you noticed the noise and then 2nd blowing on the flames like a bday candle to stop the fire 😂🎉
Buy a 2.0t accord. Fun enough banger daily and if u wanna make content u could tune it. Hella interesting build🤷🏻♂️

Maybe drew hire a lawyer to sue car max for something that easily would’ve been taken care of a long time ago, they didn’t do it
bro this is obviously a issue on subaru 😂im not saying carmax isnt at fault a bit but they tried to fix it but it still ended up having issues. Probably why the owner before Drew sold it lol.
You're dumb, a company can refuse business for no reason you can't sue somebody for something they never actually did and had no involvement, how can you be so ignorant
I mean you’re not supposed to go around hammering your car up a canyon when you hear it has an issue and then be shocked when you run it to the point it’s ready to blow. Sometimes parts are faulty just bring it back to the shop
He's got a 19+ subaru sti and has all these problems with it. It's not the car, it is the driver or drivers before it that couldn't take care of it right. I have a 2012 STi with 120,000 miles on it and have not had a single issue with mine. Original motor and everything.

Hey drew, little suggestion, you should honestly invest in a B8.5 S4 with the 3.0, they are a super good platform, you can get them in a manual or a DSG and they are pretty decent in price.

The next Daily should be a GR Corolla or a GR86
maybe bring back an accord to the garage, to be specific id recommend a 2.0t tenth gen, although extremely popular, but still, has a manual option, fun, reliable and efficient, and could get content out of it by swapping civic type r bits and pieces here and there and spicing it up to be a fly spicy cool grocery getting family sedan. Theres also mazda 6 manual, i would not advise getting a camry, maybe a non hatch manual corolla or ilx/integra or tlx would be better.
