She has always had a really cool voice. I love it. She sounds alot like The Divinyl's lead singer Chrissy Amphlet.(rip) With a softer approach. I would like to hear more from her, (Fairusa) she sounds AMAZING!! I am so impressed with this very gifted & unique woman!! God bless her.❤
Having been born on the 5th of May during a new moon, this song seems like it calls for me. As a fellow musician, I bow in respect to you Fairuza Balk.
"You're right I'm a whole different species You're right I'm not from here but that's probably why you like me you like a little fear. But I'm cold hearted, baby. Born, lived and will die free You're just in love with romance. Only with the idea of me. You can come with me but I don't suggest you stay I have a habit of leving damage in my wake" Deep, beautiful and haunting. Always had a crush on her as a kid and I always knew she was extremely talented but this blew me away. I'm lost in the stormwind! 🖤
after being so stressed out this song released a lot of emotion fro me ! Beautiful song! close your eyes and listen it’s amazing! You can picture every word.
Wow! Just Wow!!!! Your artistic talent and ability is without bounds Fairuza. You're are most definitely a woman with multiple layers of beauty. (All) of your art you can truly tell how deeply you immerse yourself in it. You are so admirable and without a doubt a truly amazing person ❤️
I just found out that we can buy this song on bandcamp for some cents. WAV, Mp3, lossless - it's all there. Now i finally have it in high quality XD This should have been a club hit at least.
I had such a crush on her when I was a teen back in the 90s, never knew she was a singer and having found this song I’m falling in love with her all over again Decades later!
if they ever make a true sequal to the craft they need to play this in the back ground when they show nancy walking out of the insane asylum on a mission woaaaa :O
Fairuza do you remember the cartoon lovely lady locks ?! Well I never really got to see it but I had a lunchbox and the artwork still haunts me and they depicted the blonde as the sweet light angelic and the brunette black purple haired sister as the dark evil one (they both of squirrel friends and creatures + magics) the artwork has always haunted me and as I grow older and learn differently and grow darker...... Yeah. I love you
Here is how I got here...my friend sent me a song called "combing my hair in a brand new style" by Jim White. I listened and I liked it. I didn't know who Jim White is so I googled him. I saw all the artists who have collaborated with him and Victoria Williams was one of them. She sang a song on the Gas Food Lodging soundtrack ( I have the CD). Then I wondered what Fairuza Balk is up to these days, so I googled her and found out about this song and here I am. Now I hope I can find a stream on Kodi for Gas Food Lodging, since I saw it back when it was released at an independent theater in Toronto.
This song is so personal to me because of that one line (i was born on a new moon, it dictates my fate ) She was actually born on the 21st of may 1974 which is a new moon . I am not surprised by how amazing and unusual , this lady turned out to be . My birth was an accident , this in itself is something that sticks to me, but the rest is what changed my life forever . i am a twin I was born a month too early , during my mother's 8th month of pregnancy , on the 31st of October (yes all hallows eve) of the same year as Fairuza, during a full moon , but the pregnancy for my twin went to term and he was born one month later . According to my mother I never stopped crying for that whole month until i was reunited with my brother . He was born on November 29th which was also a full moon but a lunar eclipse as well . My grand mother who is Inuit was already alarmed by the fact that twins weren't born at the same time , but when she realized it was going to be an eclipse for my brother she told my mother , her daughter in law, to not get too attached , which was a very bad thing to say to my mother and got my grand mother and my mother estranged for years . The years went on and we grew up as the most inseparable twins , the full package, finishing each other's sentences , feeling each other's emotions, creating our own language , etc ... When i was 14 i felt a terrible pain in my head and my brother dropped right in front of my eyes , and died immediately from a ruptured brain aneurysm . And that day literally half of me , died as well . I spent the next years like a zombie with my grand mother trying to cope with it . I couldn't think of anyone else i would rather be around and isolated myself completely in the northern territories, hoping for death . This song that i discovered much later will always illustrate the end of the darkest period of my life and forever reminds me of how we believe we can control our fate when apparently it seems that everything is already written since birth and even before .
Hypnotic. She's so underated as a talent. But I bet she likes flying under the radar. She's a very unique woman.
@Douglas Farnsworth Aren't you an edgy little bitch? Does little Dougie Farnsworth need a hug? lol
@@adoniswarchild144 LMAO. And a spanking. Right after you remove the stick up his pretentious ass
Douglas Farnsworth do you really think she comes here and reads coments?
Or do you think others besides yourself thinks that?
Sweet song

Empath. Beaten. Misunderstood. Misdiagnosed. Outspoken. I don't say "sorry" for my existence now. Thank you.
2020 and I'm just discovering this beautiful song.
2021, love it
2022 and just finding this masterpiece. She's amazing!
me in 2022. I had no idea she had such talent
Anyone else feeling the Stevie Nicks vibe? I love this so much!!
How funny, I actually just realized that myself a couple days ago! I totally agree, Stevie and Fairuza are both wonderful women! :)
no I hear Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde
It’s like Stevie Nicks and Bif Naked had a lovechild.
Omg yaasss...
Witchy vibes !
I'm in love with this song and her voice. I absolutely love the dark vibe
I've had the biggest crush on her since childhood lol
We all have.
all on the same page.
She has always been my biggest girl crush... there's something about her that is beyond sexy. She's a goddess!
she is 43...we all age.
Patrick Thank you for 'creepy little book'

Terrifyingly sexy. Hauntingly beautiful. Mysteriously captivating.
I completely appreciate the lyrics here.
Wow, I've always liked her acting but this music is incredible. Wonderful lyrics, hypnotic and haunting crooning voice
She's a deep and multi talented individual. A haunting and hypnotic song!
And here I thought this woman couldn't get anymore awesome 😃
This reminds me of Massive Attack's 'Angel'. ❤️
Intro reminds me of a tune from the crow movie...love her voice...wish she would make more music. I like this!
Boom. That's what I felt also. Great film. RIP Brandon Lee.
Fairuza was ASMR before TH-cam existed.
ASMR?
This is amazing, I had no idea, until today, that she was also a musician. More more more
Has a 90's PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star vibe. Just found her music. Awesome!
Whats haunting is the sounds of Storm winds that blow some times
It's great to hear this voice this way. And the words about having old blood. I get it. It's hard knowing you've been here more than a few times over.
Forsure
Haunting as Mazzy Star and surreal as a waking dream.
Quite similar. One of my favorite songs is by Hope Sandoval
Mazzy is amazing
This song is so awesome!!!
needs more recognition
Just found this & I love it ❤!
i love that she changes "get you" to "break you" in the last chorus. the delivery of the last verse is stellar too.
I've always been a huge fan of hers. Even watched her Dorothy portrayal! Amazing individual right here! 😘
This was the only comment I ever saw on this video about her role as Dorothy.
Sounds haunting, I likee,its mellow and blues,ee
Wow! A great song, and even better voice. Why don't we hear more of her?
"You're right I'm a whole different species
You're right I'm not from here
but that's probably why you like me
you like a little fear.
But I'm cold hearted, baby.
Born, lived and will die free
You're just in love with romance.
Only with the idea of me.
You can come with me but I don't suggest you stay
I have a habit of leving damage in my wake"
Deep, beautiful and haunting. Always had a crush on her as a kid and I always knew she was extremely talented but this blew me away. I'm lost in the stormwind! 🖤
I still need to get a copy of this. This is incredible!
Felt this with my whole soul
Yeah, it's hard not to.
Always admired her, and now I'm even more impressed by her singing voice. So much respect.🔥
She is really a different thing exactly that what needed
Reminds me of a dark haired Real Life Sonya Blade. JUST GORGEOUS!!!!

Unpretentious. Clear. Way cool. She found a niche for herself where, I hope, she carves out a place for her to grow. I admire her.
I love this. My two new fave voices right now are Fairuza Ball and Umas daughter Maya Hawke
A voice compared to stevie. And these lyrics are so very true and heartfelt.. POWERFUL
Six years and you are still my addiction ... keep that meat-grinder turning ... and yes ... THANK YOU.
Best rok/art ever!!! Fairuza ,I Love so Much!!!

one of my favorite songs and hardly anyone knows it. waiting for her album on pins and needles
This post is a year old, so you probably won't see this, but I saw on Twitter that an album is coming soon, FINALLY. 💚🕸💚🕸
And another year later, still waiting!
Lol 2023, still nothing
I had such a crush on her when I was a teen back in the 90s, never knew she was a singer and having found this song I’m falling in love with her all over again Decades later!

Such a beautiful soul. Amazing song!!!
These lyrics are transcendental, mentally narrative and on par with any written prose Jim Morrison ever did
Wow fairuza balk is my favourite since childhood from return to oz !! Woman if you seeing this love your soft kind voice and just yOU!!
My new favorite female artist, so mystic but all so sounding so intoxicating.
I'm happy she didn't go the way of drugs and bad investments. she has an amazing voice
This is so beautiful 💓💓💓
Wow. Very Stevie Nick's vibes here.
Wow! I didn't expect this to be so good! Wish she made more music 🖤
This is very good…didn’t know she was a singer, awesome
Love her what a deep hauntingly beautiful song
So much relatable deep truths. Love it!

Oh my gosh. I am even more in love with her. I adore this song!
these lyrics are killer.
Pretty impressive track. I can hear Toni Hallidey (Curve) vibes in Fairuza's vox.
Why this isn't on the radio I'll never knw... Hell of a song!
Great video.
I love that lady from the moment i have seen her the first time in AMERICAN HISTORY X
Why does her own channel not have this song??
This is a great song! I didn't know she was also a musician....
As much as I love and respect every song choice they DID make, this song woulda been badass in a scene of Breaking Bad!
Ive been in bands my whole life, this is fantastic!!! You should do more
Michael Moore i was just talking about your movie the rundown

Love this song
This is folk poetry 💚
Beautiful. Well done.
This one really showcases the quality of her voice.
Nice song and great video!
amazing.
voice so good
Few of us were born on the moon during any of its phases. The lyrics are "born under a new moon,"
Well done!
Mikal Mullaly Thank you! :)
Wonderful
Fairuza ! Reminds me of 90's ;-) We all love Ru no ?
I've only heard Ru spoken of in hushed, reverent tones. There is only one Fairuza Balk. We kinda don't deserve her.
LoveThis! ❤
Love this, wish she would do more, very dark Stevie , hope to see her on the big screen AGIAN too
Love it! 🖤
